Was Morris not allowed to audible?

Well I'm bored and a masochist so I'm rewatching some games from this year... why the fuck would Morris not audible into a pass when there were 8 guys in the box? I'm just assuming that John Don was calling the shots and that he wasn't going to let a redshirt freshman, first-year starter change plays at the line of scrimmage but I'm just guessing. Does anyone who actually knows anything have any insights?

He is allowed to audible and was the one choosing to run into 8 guys.

I watched him audible INTO a run into a stacked box several tims.
