Best possible timming IMO because this gives the best shot he can be both in game shape and eligible for the playoffs.

Well; I think based on previous comments from Wilson that he likes the level of sophistication and the desire to do the dirty work that JG offers, otherwise I think they would not bother. Personally I would put him in the slot because of his ability after the catch but man, this part time maybe he will be available shit because of drugs has gotta be at the end. I’ve never seen a guy with this many lives in the NFL

He hasn't played a full season since he was a rookie 8 years ago. Nobody has gotten more mileage off of one season than this dude and it was 8 years ago. Doubt he does much of anything. Not in game shape and probably needs time to sync back up with Wilson.
