Maybe I’m dumb and missing something, but why the fuck would you do that.
Instead of pinning them deep and forcing them to go the length of the field for a TD or bust, you make it a FG game and have to do a free kick which is likely better field position to make said drive.
I’m fucking flabbergasted.

I read that the long snapper had sailed three snaps over the head of the punter. It makes a little more sense after reading that, but I would still go for it on 4th and 2.GrundleStiltzkin said:

App State ended up missing a 30 yarder to tie the game. I kind of wish I had watched the game.

Yeah the long snapper had 3 bad snaps already so that was the thinking.
Still though, it seems like the worst option of the below I see:
1. Trot that guy back out there and hope he doesn’t fuck up again
2. Go for it on 4th and 2 to end the game
3. Try a pooch with the QB. Who knows if he could do it effectively though.
