My dad and I had the same question, and as @Doogles / @DerekJohnson astutely pointed out on the pod if you are going to run into a stacked box repeatedly might as well so do with your best power runner but what do I know. Someone said he was in pads on the sideline so that would seem to rule out Covid.

Seems to me he used to run quite effectively between the tackles. Going into the season, I expected him to be our top back. Not sure what's up...Hopefully he gets on track.

Newton has looked shockingly bad with what he has been given....
He looks a lot like a guy that didn’t improve himself during the off season and is now on the outside.
