This just in, people are responsible for their own well being not the government, tune in tonight for more hot takes about liberty and freedom.

Evidently the idiot who posted this article believes Mammy and Pappy government should tell you when and where to go and be responsible to keep you warm if you wander out of the liberal crib.
What a fucking stupid post. -

Minus building codes....food safety inspections....seat belt laws...etc. etc -
The first two can be very subjective, depending on how much one is willing to pay.HuskyJW said:

I've heard that the people are the government and the government exists to serve the people not the other way around
Building codes are developed by people to keep people safe. The government steps in to tell you what light bulbs to use -
Is that why the government requires that I get a permit whenever I put in a new window or remodel my kitchen or bathroom? They are keeping me safe? Thanks government.RaceBannon said:I've heard that the people are the government and the government exists to serve the people not the other way around

Depending on the scope it can be. When you have plumbing and electric done in the same area at least make sure they have a license.SFGbob said:

If they stopped using thermometers, you’d have fewer cases of hypothermia.insinceredawg said: -
I have every incentive, without the government doing a thing, to have the people who are re-wiring my house be competent and qualified. Still not sure why I need the government's okay to replace a window in my house.RaceBannon said:

This story about people waiting for buses receives massive coverage from the MSM, while the story about Joe Biden being credible accused, by an on the record source, with documented evidence of being a lying crook receives zero coverage from the MSM.

I built 5 decks without a permit. I get where you are coming from but building codes do protect us. A window is no big deal. If you hire licensed competent people to do your work they may or may not get a permitSFGbob said:

The government is set up to help the stupid and the rest of us get caught in the wash.
Edit to add that windows fall under the light bulb deal. Energy efficiency and all that. Again why wouldn't you want to save money on heat and cooling with good thermal rate windows. But still -
It doesn’t make sense as an analogy compared to Covid testing, but perhaps I’m just being pedantic.GrundleStiltzkin said:

Biden Rally transport.

Biden can’t even fill a short bus considering the lack of people at his “rallies.”
