Reminds me of how Washington removed a bunch of hydroelectric green energy dams because they were killing fish...
The state built a hydro electric dam, it started to kill the fish so they built a fish ladder and fisheries building with money generated from the dam, they eventually removed the dam because it was effecting downstream sediment loads and was inefficient, after tearing out all the man man buildings and restoring the natural river fish populations crashed, the localities sued the state for harming the fish populations, the state was then forced to rebuild and maintain indefinitely a man made fish ladder and fisheries building in the middle of nowhere.
