I hear Seattle is great. Don't get me wrong, Eugene is worse, but the Oregon coaches don't sell Oregon with Eugene. If the coaches are trying to sell Seattle, they are doing it wrong.DawgDaze71 said:There's zero reason for Emeka to go anywhere else. UW lone WR recruit is playing the Slot. A 5 star QB is coming in the same class that you throw with.
To leave that and go to either OSU or Oklahoma that has 2 solid WR recruits each is Kaho Stupid(™)
Oklahoma is a boring state. Kids from Texas don't mind because much of Texas is also ugly.
nah ....
Selling Seattle isn't smart for these reasons:
Too many homeless
Poor weather
Below averages coeds
Miami, Florida State*, Florida, USC, UCLA, Texas, and Tennessee can sell on location. They are located in or near a big city, they great weather, and they most certainly have the coeds. Florida State has a 157 mile trip to Jacksonville, so even they have a harder sell.
HTH. -
Hasn't b een great but not sure if I'd call it a complete train wreck ... yetEsophagealFeces said:
Yeah, this year has been a complete fucking train wreck. Fuck this shit.Swaye said:If we are basically done this class is terrible.
Jimmy's first year is an epic bust. All the wrong hires, all the wrong keeps on the staff, and an almost complete bust on the recruiting trail. Outside of Prentice, Sam and Voi, this is pretty much a WSU class.
Good thing Georgia is getting shit done. -
If homelessness scares off recruits, you're going to have to scratch the LA schools right off your list. Or any other school in a major coastal city, for that matter.greenblood said:

A kid that is basically from Seattle isn’t worried about homeless people in the city. These are big time recruits, not Sleddog.1to392831weretaken said:

Jesus, Seattle and the U district is posh compared to what it was in the 80s and 90s, even 2000s. This homelessness thing is stupid. It literally affects zero recruits.

We are pretty much out of it. Emeka is the only recruit we have a realistic chance that is still left on the board for the 2021 class. Besides him, they basically moved on to the 2022 class.bananasnblondes said:

Steilacoom (Wa.) WR Emeka Egbuka (2021) - Yep, I said it. It's going out on a bit of a limb, but I think the Huskies are in good shape here. No, they aren't currently the "leader" for his services right now, but, as things drag on with his recruitment and the luster of Oklahoma fades a bit, I think Washington is in a good spot to grab him. His family would prefer he stick close to home, although they aren't pushing him one way or the other. Ohio State is definitely the other school to keep an eye on and they are considered to be neck-and-neck with the Sooners as his top schools, but I just get the feeling he's going to stay home. He has an outstanding relationship with Junior Adams and he will have the chance to see what Washington's offense looks like under John Donovan's direction. It's just a hunch, but I think Husky fans will be very happy when his recruitment wraps up. -

So his prediction is that we'll nab him, though we're running third. Same sunshine pumping bullshit as always

Yeah that report is a lot different than a "woofs soon".UWDawg11 said:Eklund just predicted Emeka woofs soon.

Didn't realize it was from the "who could woof" article. It definitely doesn't sound like he's expecting anything to happen on EE anytime soon.UWDawg11 said:
I still think we get him but not because of this report. Tim will tell.

My life was much happier when I didn't follow TBS. I could just look forward to the games and judge the coach on wins and losses.
-
The one benefit of a 26th-ranked class (behind Cal, no less) and retaining Bob Gregory and hiring JohnDon is this. After a while, you realize you're fucked and you stop giving two fucks about TBS. Then again, that has the calamitous effect of losing more than winning on the field. Which exacerbates unhappiness.BleachedAnusDawg said:My life was much happier when I didn't follow TBS. God, I might as well be one of those Gaia-loving folks on Vashon or Whidbey and start jarring fruit. TBSing is like PTSD for college football freaks. -

We had a basement freezer where my dad kept the bodies and my mom stored frozen strawberries and raspberries for the long winterBeno4Life said:

It doesn’t help this year and it really doesn’t help much next year other than possibly Huard, Egbuka, and JTT. I’ll worry about 2023 when the time comes. That’s always been my problem with recruiting. I never care enough to worry that far ahead.Beno4Life said:
