Glass Fire Update: We lost acres of our Emblem Cabernet vines on the Oso family vineyard. Can’t believe we are doing this again. 2017, then 2x in 2020.
Wake up CA political leaders, we need to bring back winter control burns to clean the understory. We need to be allowed to properly clean up after fire and before fires proactively. After 2017 we were not allowed to gather and burn down dead trees and brush. So the brush and trees that remain after a fire become tinder for the next.
We can’t blame this all on climate change. We need to look to the past and understand that management of land is so important to be wholistic. (Gov Jerry Brown eliminated control burning and the environmentalist did the rest. Perfect example example, demonstrating the laws of unintended consequences.)
CA is so amazing in so many ways yet its head is up its @ss when it comes to realistic well thought land management. #calfirefirefighters #glassfire #napa #napafires2020

I've lived here for 18 years now and rain before the end of October would be a minor miracle.Goduckies said:Rain is on the way for Saturday... thank god... hopefully it keeps coming to Nor Cal
