so sherman isn't a shutdown corner because of the system?
but Peterson is?

91.1 passer rating against? what in that screams shutdown corner?
Love it, the seahawks win the sb and still get no respect. This team feeds off stuff like this better than any team in football

BUT HE DOESN'T COVER OTHER TEAM'S NUMBER ONE RECEIVERS!!!!!1
Michael Crabtree has made Peterson his personal bitch. If you're gonna get owned by a mediocre receiver, keep your mouth shut about the best. -
a 49er fan actually chimed in on hooks.net saying crabtree has made peterson look silly and thinks there's absolutely no comparison between the two. I appreciated the honesty

@PFF_Pete
I'd rather have a Richard Sherman shut down one side of the field, than a Patrick Peterson inconsistently covering all of it.
this pretty much sums it up -

watch the video and see the twitter poll going on at the bottom. 3/4ths of the people agree with peterson. That's almost to the level of the poll i saw a couple weeks ago on sportsnation where like 65% of america said they'd take pedroia over cano.
These polls are getting to the point of being laughable
as for those experts, if Peterson can do anything you ask because of his supreme athleticism why can't he cover michael crabtree? -
Has SkipBaylessFS chimed in yet?

I didn't realize there were 12s among us.
Sherman has a ring. Simple fact, case closed, end of discussion. -
Patrick Peterson is pressing big time.
-
I wish Sherman wouldn't have tweeted anything but "Win a Super Bowl then pop off"
-
The scheme and coaching staff help Sherman, but there is no way he isn't the best CB. PFF had an article about this same topic and showed how much better Sherman is than Peterson and Haden. It's not even close.

Patrick Peterson is one of the most overrated player in the NFL. Don't get me a wrong, he is good and sometimes exciting to watch, but he routinely gets beat by good QB/WR plays. Offenses facing the Cardinals have no fear going against him, they have other players to worry about on that defense. He is a good starting defensive back in the NFL, not quite elite.

Someone should compare Maxwell to PP then, since Sherman doesn't cover the other team's #1 that must mean Maxwell does. I'm guessing Maxwell's stats are way better than PP's as well.
