James Woods looks at map of US wildfires, notices lack of fires in Canada.

Thought you actually had a good point...and then I checked Google:dflea said:James Woods looks at map of US wildfires, notices lack of fires in Canada.

Fires due appear to drop off dramatically at the border...amazing that...

The point stands you fucking idiot. You won't see Canadian fires on a map of US wild fires. There are 25 wild fires in BC right now and Canada reports 3621 wild fires this year.
If you want to point out that's way less than the US, then just fucking do it. Don't screenshot the map of US wildfires and point out the lack of fires in Canada like a fucking retard would. That's an MSM fake news move. -
In 2017 Seattle was smokey for most of August because of BC fires. Thinking that Canada is any better at managing fires than the US in a bad take.dflea said:The point stands you fucking idiot. Oregon/Washington got lit up this year because of a crazy wind event that blew in hot/dry air from the east. BC would have gone up in flames too if they got hit as hard by that weather system. -

As a Canadian I disagree. I'm far better managing fires than all u fags

The question isn’t managing. The question is fire/no fire. Canada can’t manage as well as we can because there is no private ownership of commercial timberlands in Canada. It’s all provincial lease, and lessees aren’t going to care for their lands like fee owners do.RedRocket said:

Two summers ago we lived with smoke for months because of Canadian wildfires.
They tend to be caused by human action - intentional and otherwise - and lighting.
They do seem to be getting worse. It may be a dry phase in the earth’s climate. It may be disease (the Canadian fires have been worsened, and will come to be worsened, by the beatle kill. It may be a lot of things. It wasn’t like this growing up when I lived right in the middle of timber country. We had fires but not on this scale. -
They don’t exist in Canada according to Canadian Forrest management but dflea’s point still stands...Brilliant!dflea said:The point stands you fucking idiot. You won't see Canadian fires on a map of US wild fires. There are 25 wild fires in BC right now and Canada reports 3621 wild fires this year.

My only response to sales off the National forest is this: you’re injecting the government into the market. Why could go wrong?
There is a WALL of wood out there in private hands being managed by professionals. We? don’t need federal wood. At all. There is no shortage of wood, and the demand is ALWAYS met by industry supply. In fact, if you ask anyone in the timber industry, they’ll? tell you that the industry’s Achilles heel is that it is almost too good at flooding the market with supply when demand goes up. They? never enjoy high prices for very long. Typical commodity market.
We? don’t need the National forests adding more supply. It would be analogous to having the fed get into the farming business. Not necessary or advisable. -
To be fair I forgot the context of the kokpelli thingRedRocket said:

Don’t disagree. Especially against disease like the pinewood beettle, which makes future massive fires in Canada a virtual certainty.RoadTrip said:

So they are burning the Forest in the mountains for HSR that is nowhere near there? It's better to keep your mouth shut and make us assume you are an idiot than open it and confirm it.oregonblitzkrieg said: -
