These are intelligent, well accomplished people, they have to know exactly what they are doing, they have to have the numbers... Covid is real, but the uniform overwhelmingly irrational response has got to be fake.
These are people that see an opportunity to push their own personal or political agenda in the created chaos and leverage it into power. From presidents and upper campuses that have long desired to eliminate athletics, student athletes into getting more perks while not even playing, or just a general anti-trump academic political agenda.
These people know they are applying the death rate of seniors in an extended care homes already near death to that of healthy college athletes, they know that college aged athletes are probably more likely to die in an after-party DUI than Covid, and they know that someone shouldn't even be playing high level competitive sports in the first place if they are so unhealthy that covid19 could place them in the hospital.

About that loan deferral
Wait for it

How does playing an XFL season in the spring with no fans make a profit? Spring football is such a dumb idea, and what about player safety with a full season in the fall also happening?

3 out of 10 fans took the money. Good luck ever seeing them again

Sad that outside of the ACC a ton of little directional schools are playing college football this weekend while the Pac 12 PANICS
I mean I'm forced to watch Notre Dame play Duke. Literally forced to -
If you can gather in a protest, funeral, violent riot I dont see why ~150 people cant gather for a football game... just call it a "protest" gameNorthwestFresh said:
Hell, a standard 737 can hold ~200 people and there were retards taking voluntary commercial plane flights in the middle of this pandemic. -

A spring game. Maybe invite some alumni to play the varsity

Still surprised by how the government employees, including the college AD departments have had so little push back on the continued shutdown. Teachers, DMV employees, and non-football college athletic employees enjoyed months of free pay with no to little work. Now, the pain and misery is going to come home as revenue has collapsed. Not enough rich people to support the millions of unemployed at their former full weight of pay. Like you said, the 30% requesting full refunds aren't coming back.

Maybe Nebraska would join the new western G6 superconference as we? merge with Idaho and the Montana schools to see who gets to play in the coveted Pre-January Weedeater Bowl for all the marbles against the MAC champion. Can you imagine if NDSU joined? Those Root Network contracts would write themselves. Throw in a few Tuesday night games on ESPNU and things are popping for western football. Natty in no time.PurpleThrobber said:

I seriously doubt the Pac12 has the budget for these kinds of extreme measures.GrundleStiltzkin said:It just means more
