I think there’s an interesting comparison here between the value of his public comments where he’s obviously not going to denigrate troops versus unnamed sourcing of a private conversation where it obviously could be exaggerated or made up
Either side could probably make the case that neither piece of evidence holds much weight, thus we are back to this story meaning nothing and it’ll be gone by Tuesday. -
