Assuming Yary enrolls this fall, we should expect 2 couch sales prior to fall camp to get down to 85. With 14 commits for the '21 class so far, we'll still be over by 1 if no one else leaves early. Tryon and Otton are likely leaving if they have good seasons.

I think the pandemic has discouraged players from entering the portal so more players are sticking around with their current team. The coaches might have anticipated some transfers that didn't happen and that may explain why some guys they were recruiting earlier are now in a holding pattern (Cardwell, Schuster, Ho'ohuli). I think right now besides EE/JTT, the only kids we're recruiting that have committable offers are Bowers and Nunley.

So how many more can we take?

I don’t know shit but to keep balance it looks like we need 8 more.

As of now, none based on the roster as is. There will be some attrition before camp and more after camp so we should have a better idea by the end of September.

I think they have 3 buckets right now of prospects

Elite players who they will take no matter what and figure out the roster situation later - EE, JTT, Bowers, probably Franklin and Burke but those are long shots
Good players they like but can't take until the roster is sorted out - Cardwell, Schuster, Ho'ohuli, Jefferson. With the first three, they were given the opportunity to commit but weren't ready yet so we took Berry, Finau, and Latu.
Replacement level players but a position of need so they'll need to take - Nunley, possibly another 3* CB

Has Mason West enrolled? He’s a good candidate to greyshirt and then move along after the 2020 season is cancelled.

Good post but we can take 7 or so more. 13 is a normal number of graduating seniors. There are always 8-10 departures for whatever reason- most unpredictable.

True, most of the attrition happens before the season so we should know within two months. Other then the early draft enrollees, I believe Ngata is the only attrition since the end of last season.

Unless there’s no season (there won’t be) and the NCAA doesn’t grant more schollies (unlikely but it’s the NCAA so who knows) OR the school doesn’t want to pay for more than 85 FB players (again unlikely but not out of the realm of possibility).

With Pa'ama and Tryon couch sales, we are right at 85 for the "2020" season if and when that happens. With Nunley's commitment we're at 87 for 2021, not including the seniors who will get an extra year of eligibility for COVID.

Real question is, what are FCS/Big Sky scholly limits?

Could be even smaller if Otton and Kirkland leave early as expected

Let's see if we can get some feel of normal back into the program and play some games. I'm not known for making excuses for coaches but its HARD to imagine a harder way to take over a program than what Jimmy has faced.

Still time to bring them into the fold. Nothing is signed

With the Gilchrist and Kizer couch sales we're entering the 2020 season with just 81 scholarship players but we couldn't take Jordan Banks because we didn't have room. We're going to miss out on both EE and JTT while passing on Schuster, Wynden, Velltray, etc and then go into 2021 with a handful of open spots that we'll hand over to walk ons. It's the script.

Per Eklund and Kim there is absolutely no room past 13 players in this recruiting class except for the 5 star guys which seems ridiculous. But even if true, you found room for a 5th H-back on the roster, a guy who has never played vsrsity football, a guy who has played varsity football for one year, and a total unknown with 0 other scholarship offers. The mismanagement of this class is astounding.
The class has been managed poorly but when did we start putting any stock in what those regards say?

There is plenty more room in this class.

Highly retarded regards, it must be said.
