Young Bull was 20 in 1990 when he called a broker (who blew him off btw, but back then the only way you could buy stocks) about buying a tiny company called Microsoft with $2500 and how much it cost. Never went any further. Had I held onto it for next 30 years (wouldn't have as at end of Ballmer regime I was so done with it and the money pit that was X-box) I am on my own island with no worries of Covid.
Amazon in 2008 at $60. Was wildly expensive then, but could see the freight train of on-line sales they were on.
Apple at 75 back in 2014. Was not expensive, but questioned people desires to buy $500 phones, and fact that was essentially whole revenue base.

Sold 5000 bitcoins for about $300 to clear off a hard drive I needed for movie files

I should have invested the money I made working on Microsoft, Nintendo, Starbucks, and Amazon early offices into their stock and held it

MSFT - no question.
Actually laughed at one of my buddies who left our good times in the 80's to go to work for them. Chicks, beer, general shenanigans (no malarkey) and you're going to do what???

Turned down a job at MSFT in 1992. Offer included 15,000 stock options.

Go look at a company called Emisphere (EMIS). Owned 100,000 shares of it for several years as a flyer based on a recommendation from a friend.
Didn’t pay much attention to stocks back then and after about 2 years sold it. About 1 year before it took off... -
