If the players "All want to play football this season" then why do they want the option of opting out? If ALL the players want to play football this season, why do they want a guarantee of eligibility if they choose "not to play"? If they all want to play football this season then change their mind, why do they want us to respect their decision?
Two years ago, I remember spending thousands of dollars on Rose bowl tickets, travel, and overpriced food because the players and coach of my team all wanted to play -- and win, I thought -- the Rose bowl. One of our key star defensive players opted out, our coach mailed it in, and I was told I should respect their decisions.
