Apparently not like the oral polio vaccine I took with a sugar cube. Geezus. Just had the new Shingles virus shot and it was the worst reaction I've had in years. Shot ached, was hot and I ached all over.

If I look hard enough I can still find the scar from the BIG polio needle we took in 1960. We got shot for everything and we were told when we did get the measles and chicken pox that we now had immunity. It was considered part of growing up. Mumps too.
There was actually a girl in our class that had polio. It was still on the way out -
My wrestling coach had one giant leg and one tiny one from Polio. It really was a real thing.RaceBannon said:If I look hard enough I can still find the scar from the BIG polio needle we took in 1960. If we had a society in the 50s like we have today, school would have been closed for 70 years. Yeah, some kids might get polio, but they knew keeping millions out of school was far worse.
