Back in Black - AC DCBack in Black is really a great album. It was almost ready for Bon to put lyrics to it when he died, so unfortunately we'll never know what kind of masterpiece it would have been. It still turned out pretty awesome with Brian, but nobody fills Bon Scott's shoes.
This year is loaded. It was hard for me to pass over British Steel - it's one of my favorite albums. -
X - Los AngelesIn 80 or so, with MTV (when they played music) and mix tapes (Jeeezus. I am OLD), I got exposed to Punk, early Alt-Country, and English Pub Rock...fell in love with Rockpile, still love them today...

Back in Black - AC DCWtf? No option to politely tell Row Peter Puffer to F.O. with respect??
This is arguably in the Top 3 for 1980! I know Back In Black destroys all that year, but still....can’t believe the omission.

Back in Black - AC DCBauhaus’ debut album was the landmark moment in the goth-rock music scene.

Even though the ANTHEM of goth music came out a year earlier.

Remain In Light - Talking Heads
I saw them about 13 years ago at the Showbox. Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash were amazing. Peter Murphy solo, Love and Rockets and Tones on Tail along with the mother ship, Bauhaus are all worth my time, every time.Laocoön said:Bauhaus’ debut album was the landmark moment in the goth-rock music scene.

X is definitely on the short list of best and most influential. But 1980 had this absolute classic:YellowSnow said:Does this rock enough for you @BleachedAnusDawg ?
@RatherBeBrewing if X Los Angeles isn't high on your list of all time punk records your stock price with me will plummet.
I met Jello Biafra when I was 15. I spilled a beer in his vicinity, he took one look at me and said I'm the worst type of people and walked away. -
Back in Black - AC DC
I met John Doe at the Sundance Film Fest about 14 years ago. X's first album is probably my favorite punk record by an American group not named the Ramones. I toyed with putting in Dead Kennedy's but was appeasing the metal voters.RatherBeBrewing said:
