I would've called them Seawolves or something that's made up. Sockeyes is lame. Kraken is corny.

I used to tell people my favorite NHL team was the future Seattle franchise. Now my favorite team is the future Tacoma NHL franchise.

Red is tough to pull off in Seattle (it bombed for the Sonics) but as a minor accent I think it can work.
