The CDC is considering encouraging people to cover their faces in public

Gov. Gavin Newsom said he plans to issue statewide regulations on Wednesday regarding the enforcement of California’s mandate that people wear face coverings while in public or high-risk settings.

During his Tuesday press briefing, Newsom hinted he will count on local municipalities to enforce the state’s mask order, which was issued June 18.

“We’ll be doing more to focus on enforcement in this state,” Newsom said. “Enforcement comes in many different shapes. Primarily local enforcement.”
