The hashtag “#CancelYale” started trending nationwide on Twitter.
In one tweet, from Jesse Kelly, around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, he said he called on Yale to “change its name immediately and strip the name of Yale from every building, piece of paper, and merchandise. Otherwise, they hate Black people. #CancelYale”

Not only named after Elihu Yale, but founded by him with money that Yale earned as a slave trader. This isn’t just some statue, it’s an entire university built directly with money from the slave trade. Grads call themselves “Eli” after their founding slave trader.
Much worse than a statue of Robert E. Lee. The entire university shut be shut down and given to #BlackLivesMatter as global HQ.
