After signing two of their best classes in program history the past two years, the Oregon Ducks have quickly established themselves as one of the premier recruiters on the West Coast.

But the 2021 recruiting cycle has thrown new challenges at programs across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic, testing coaching staffs and forcing them to adapt on the fly.

Oregon has not only been able to overcome the shutdown of all in-person contact, but has actually seen its recruiting class grow and develop into the nation’s No. 7 class, highlighted by elite quarterback Ty Thompson, five-star wide receiver Troy Franklin and Adidas All-American offensive tackle Bram Walden.

USC is putting together a hell of a class.

    I agree

However, any USC head coach should be fired on the spot for not having the best Pac 12 recruiting class every year. They have tradition, location, and weather. If you're halfway competent, you can draw a 30 mile radius around campus and only get recruits in that bubble and finish with the top Pac 12 class.

And for that reason, said head coach should NOT be fired on the spot and should, instead, get a contract for life.
Clay Helton has done more for the Oregon and Washington football programs than we're? willing to admit. Peterson and Cristobal would not have near the same level of recruiting success had it not been for Clay Helton being the bumbling idiot he is.

Crisco can recruit with anybody, irregardless. He fucking recruited talent to Rutgers for Christ's sake.

Cristobal isn't competing for SoCal talent against Pete Carroll and company.

They have but we will pass them. They will end up #2 in PAC 12 recruiting in 2021 IMO, which is better than usual.

They are only 2 spots above the Ducks Nationally with 3 more commits. Oregon has a slightly higher average commit rating too. 😁

Don't know what that would look like; certainly more difficult. But the point is that he can recruit, and recruiters recruit. He'd still get people in.

......And facts. This year will be the 3rd straight year Oregon has had the #1 class in the PAC 12 since you seemed to have missed it. Two out of the three years Ducks recruiting classes have been ranked in the top ten. 😁

I’m sure that the truth that Peterson and now Lake just can’t compete with Cristobal and his recruiting team is scary and hurts a lots. The time spent on your profligate blather attacking Duck opinion pieces based on facts would be better spent on a forum designed for Huskies. There you could share your combined misery and angst about your 2021 recruiting class. Ankle biting about Oregon recruiting isn’t going to make your 50 something ranked class look any better. 😁

Petersen’s staff did well in recruiting but many of the younger guys on that staff who built those rosters have moved to other jobs. Jeff Choate as HC and Kane Ione as DC to FCS semifinalist Montana State which has completely turned around, Jonathon Smith and a few others to OSU which is on the rose, and while Lake is a solid recruiter, rumors are the other staff members don’t play as well in living rooms. If 5* Sam Huard hadn’t fallen into UDub’s lap as a legacy, they’d be down in the 70s and 80s with the Wazzus and Arizonas for 2021 thus far.
