Those guys that were found hanged... My first reaction was the same as when Jussie's story came out. That it just doesn't sound right. I wanted to say it was BS the first time I read it, but wisely kept it inside until it began to unravel. I think these guys were suicidal for whatever reasons and decided becoming a famous martyr was the best way to go.

I think it would fairly easy to determine suicide vs murder these days. I doubt murdered people would go down without a fight. There would be signs of that. DNA from others would be present. Forensic analysis of evidence is very sophisticated now.
