You know how hard it is to return punts at altitude?

Not only that but most of Utah's roster is Mormon so they're practically adults.

And we lost to USC in 79,84, and 16 but won the Pac in 16. First one in 16 years

The old guy with the recency bias. 79 was a good year. 84 was a great year. But 2016 was the best and we don't lose to Utah.

We didn't lose to Cal or Oregon either back then. But still

Oregon beat us the following year 34-10

Voted for the one I remember. All I know is that Brownsocks was not going to win that game at Utah.

And went 3 and 14 against James

And UW went to the Rose Bowl

I didn't go with Utah '16 because of the four uncalled blocks in the back (two were marginal, but two were textbook). I'm surprised the record-breaker the following year isn't on the list. I mean, think of all of the ingredients:

1.) It set a national record.
2.) Against the most hated rival.
    3.) At home.
    4.) In an embarrassing blowout.
5.) And there had been a huge amount of buildup in the media and extra attention on Husky games due to everyone holding their breath in anticipation of being able to be there when the record was broken. Every time a team was stupid enough to punt to him, everyone who cares about college football leaned forward in their seat to see what would happen.
6.) Oregon's FS coach talked shit before the game, saying he wasn't afraid of punting to Pettis.
7.) Bob Gregory coached a unit that holds a national record to this day.

    8) The Willie Taggert gif

    I don't remember Jarcynka's return. 1998 was a bummer year.

I actually do remember that game. White pants as I recall

Horribly boring game waiting for California to fold. By 98 Husky football was defeated

I can't believe I missed this one. I was at that game in the endzone that he ran it back to (east end). I remember him shaking the fencing in front of the bleachers after he scored.

I'm one of the kids in the Seattle times photo grabbing the fence with him. Might be the highlight of my life.

Not sure what you'd call that odd game from before 1994.

It's pretty easy and logical to define competitive eras in CFB with scholarship limits. Ignoring that is head in the sand silliness.

In 76 it went from no limit to 95. That's when UW made inroads on USC. Oregon didn't need to wait but they did have a 17 year plan

Experts and scientists tell us that original limit changed the game

Johnny Majors had taken over at Pitt and had like 60 freshmen including Dorsett right before the limit

Now please remove yourself from my lawn
