This is vaguely similar to having a UW Marketing Twitter page containing a Go Ducks! in the bio
-
Swastikas STAY for many of the reasons you mention. Table turned, if Great Gramps were buried in German military cemetary with a big ass "GO USA MOTHERFUCKER" stamped on his headstone and some German fuck got his feelings hurt - too bad.
-
Democrats always focused on the past
-
If one truly believes in the concept of free expression, however offensive, the symbols should stand. If visitors choose to piss on the headstones, the Throbber would shed no tears.
When do the Dems start demanding crosses or stars of david be removed from headstones because, well, atrocities in Palestine or the Crusades or some such shit?

Until the Nazis used this symbol, the swastika was used by many cultures throughout the past 3,000 years to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck. -

In THIS economy?
-
Native American symbol hijacked by the goddamn Nazis. I still fly a swastika flag over the Wigwam. Fuck off if you don't like it.

Good with it as is.

Now the imports are the wrong style? -
You don’t punctuate plural’s with apostrophe’s.Bendintheriver said:There were some state side Nazi's who were POW during WWII. Evidently when they died they were allowed to determine what their gravestone inscription would be. Two of them evidently stuck with the Nazi theme and now people want to erase those gravestones from the military cemetery. I find the practice that allowed those graves to be buried there odd but I am against book burning, toppling statues and trying to "erase" and whitewash history so that the past mirrors the FEELINGS of those who arrogantly believe they are the judge and jury of such things.
Just curious what others think.

If the Nazis were running Germania now, you can bet your Ute ass that Gramps wouldn't have a burial site at all, much less with a marker indicating anything other than pure fielty to the reich.89ute said:Swastikas STAY for many of the reasons you mention.
