Lake is finding out in recruiting he doesn't have a fraction of the political capital Petersen had because he hasn't won anything yet. It is imperatively important that (1) the season in 2020 actually happens, and (2) that UW wins 10+ games year 1. The expectation is a Lincoln Riley style transition, he's been here the whole time. Jen didn't even interview him.
When your team...
- Has, at worst, a good RB and promising depth. Upper half of P12
- Has, at worst, a good situation at OL (unless Huff is all hat and no cattle, jury still out tbh). Upper half of P12
- Has, at worst, a top 15 DB group. Best in P12
- Has, at worst, a very solid group of DL highlighted by an AA talent in Tryon. Top third of P12
- Has 3 highly rated blue chip QBs to compete for the job
You need to win now.
