The PERS program is so healthy, it makes sense to spend a quarter b on career fairs for the unemployable.

I'm quite certain the leftists would tax the business owners based on the volume of feces left on the sidewalks in front of their establishment if given half a chance.

Because, clearly, it's the business owners fault the homeless are so oppressed by not providing them employment. It's only right the oppressors pay for the services need to clean up the poopy sidewalks.

Was supposed to go to the homeless. Watch as broke ass government steals it for their employees. More taxes = nothing changes or gets worse.

I have all the screen shots I need to check back in two years and see if homelessness is improved, the same, or worse.... we all already know the answer.

Like the seattle city fee on uber rides Council claimed would go to Drivers for Benefits that was diverted to a $52,000,000 homeless/low income housing project to build 30 units

They also passed their extra $.10 gas pump tax by 3 to 1. Not a big deal for the common man. But for businesses with fleets, it's a big deal.

They’ll just pass it on to their customers who won’t even see it

I would enjoy being a fly on the wall while some career social worker with a social justice boner tries to give resume and interview tips to a homeless heroine addict.

I volunteer at a restaurant in downtown Portland that trains homeless and addicts how to get restaurant jobs. Everything from dishwashers to line cooks. I’d say our success rate is maybe 25% in terms of placing candidates, there are some we’ve definitely helped, but many just disappear even when you think they are ready to move to a real job. This restaurant is privately funded and has the best of the best of Portland restauranteurs and chefs volunteering time. I can’t imagine how low a success rate a taxpayer-funded program led by career social workers will have, but here we go on pissing more taxpayer money away. Yay Portland Democrats. Go team.

Think of this like you would a business investment.

If someone pitched you a 75% chance you wouldn’t make your money back on 250 million dollars, what would you do?

I’ve found the women addicts are more likely to flake and disappear but that’s just going by @HHusky’s kids’ experiences as proof.
