NY has ICU beds currently available because they have been rapidly converting pediatric and surgical units into ICU units, while turning the convention center and central park into hospitals and bringing a hospital ship into port...

Speaking to a Physicians Assistant that works Overlake and Evergreen hospitals. He indicates the ICU's are not full with plenty of capacity, and describes Overlake as deserted.

Those field hospitals constructed won't be used. There was a KUOW report a couple nights ago that I can no longer find, that only 7 public quarantine rooms are in use.

I know that current ICU capacity has also essentially increased bc there are so few car accidents with the shut downs.
Nurse friends in SF said they basically have the Covid cases but almost no one else that would normally come in has. -
