holy shit

Well, there's kinda more people in NY so there's that....
And if I continue this post, I'll probably get banned on a call for genocide.
So instead....joobs.

my response wasn't from the comparison of the two cities. My response came from the sharp uptick of NY's numbers.PurpleThrobber said:Well, there's kinda more people in NY so there's that....

It's about the % increase per day...
Taking population out of the equation, here is the % increase to deaths per day for last 5 days:
Raw Data
-
Take it all the way back to the start for both states if you could, graph master.
And then post some joobs of your own.
I mean, not your own personal joobs - I don't want to see that.

Linear trend line probably isn't totally appropriate in this scenario, but:

Me likey Anne Hathaway. She does naughty things on camera. Then she does a Princess Diaries type role, then she goes back to being a slut. "MURICA!DoogieMcDoogerson said:Linear trend line probably isn't totally appropriate in this scenario, but:
Again, April 6 is another week out. I truly believe you're going to see patterns emerging with more data and the violent day-to-day spikes will flatten.

Anything for today yet?
-
You'd think Cuomo and DeBlasio would have been better prepared.
-
Trump should build a wall around Manhattan, blow the bridges, lock everyone down and cut off the supply chain. Not because of the virus or anything, just in general.
-
People are packed in like sardines there. Plus Italians probably still kiss each other.

277 for NY, 14 for WA.GrundleStiltzkin said:Anything for today yet?

That nursing home getting destroyed was a wake-up call for most people in this state (no one on this board obviously), wonder how many lives it ended up saving as a result. -
New York Continues to be Fucked / WA State's high # of deaths reported yesterday appears to be an anomalyGrundleStiltzkin said:Anything for today yet?
I'll do some county by county analysis in WA state tomorrow. Found some data...

Here's a preview of some county stuff:

The totals are nice ,.. but it’s ALWAYS going to show an increasing trend
The big question to me is at what point do we start seeing the cases decline on a daily basis (assuming same type of testing procedure)
Same with positive testing rate ... needs to be tracked as well
What’s the end game with all of this? -
In the long term, we're all dead.Tequilla said:The totals are nice ,.. but it’s ALWAYS going to show an increasing trend

15% isn’t good no matter what. However I’d want to know who was tested. -
Except the positive test rate is 8.9%, not 15% - that was one particular day. 8.9% is about 2% higher than what I've been hearing elsewhere outside King County. Not Fleenor been hearing, don't twist...better than that, better than that.GrundleStiltzkin said:

True ... but the positive rate was in the 7.5% range about a week ago off the top of my headPurpleThrobber said:

The high daily test rates is relatively troubling if the controls are the same
-
Not really - because a massive percentage of those who test positive don't have underlying health issues, don't smoke and aren't old. Better to watch the recovery numbers than go down the rabbit hole of the Death Pool.Tequilla said:

People are gonna die. That's a simple fact. People are gonna die walking down the street. April 6 has been my day to start either going worry wart or fuck off mode/give me back my liberty.

No new deaths overnight in Oregon. Positive Test Rate = 4.8%. Once again its Oregon. Hope there isn't a sh*t load of false negatives.

If people are doing their jobs and staying home, I’m not real concerned with cases. Only deaths. The ball don’t lie and neither do the deaths.PurpleThrobber said:

It would be nice if the gubnors let the physicians do their jobs. The ball lies if the ref keeps letting air out of it so it don't bounce.salemcoog said:

There should be nothing traveling in and out of NYC, Jersey and even Seattle, SF, LA and NO other than goods.PurpleThrobber said:

If you’re serious about stopping this effectively anyway.
But shutting down all of the forests and rivers is a better strategy I’m sure. -
The sound a ball makes as the air is let out is sssssssssssssstttt.salemcoog said:

Weird - no red states/cities on your list.
Purely coincidental, I'm sure.

It's why I'm really interested in seeing the positive cases AND testing rate in unison
If we're testing more is it because more tests are available, because more are showing symptoms to require testing, etc. -
Stats are nice to have. But testing every freaked out hypochondriac with a sore throat isn’t productive imo.Tequilla said:
