America's Great Divide

Two part series on Frontline. The Throbber watched Part One yesterday and will have Part Two on while he tends to his chicken today.
Very well done. Highly recommend.

Jeezus Throbber. That is a genuflect on one knee, play his skin flute, homage to BO. It portrays anyone who isn't a rat as racist and it is most definitely written to be a hit job on Trump.
I knew what I was getting into when I saw it was pbs, but that video goes beyond my lowest expectation. What it did do though was remind me that the rats used Charleston as an opportunity to paint the American Right as racist. One fucking psycho kills and everyone who disagrees with the far left is racist. 6% of the population in this country (black males) are responsible for 44% of the murders and not a mention. It is all about the racist white Republicans. Wow!
-
The Rats don't need any opportunity in order to paint Republicans as racists. It's been their default position now for nearly 50 years. And if they can't find a good incident to use in order to make their charge, they'll make one up. Hands Up Don't shoot!!!Bendintheriver said:Jeezus Throbber. I passed on this one because Frontline. The Throbber recommendation carries some weight but still undecided
America always seems to be divided when a GOP (allegedly) wins the White House. Its all butterflies and rainbows when a Democrat is there
Bi partisan is agreeing with the left and giving them what they want. Partisanship is doing what your conservative base elected you to do which is also divisive. And racist -
I found it to be a good refresher of 'how' we got to where we have. 2008 was all hope and change and unity and hugs....and in less than a decade, reasonable people are pissed off at the extremes.RaceBannon said:I passed on this one because Frontline. Obama pushed the wrong buttons when he embarrassed Trump at the DC Correspondents Dinner. That's the day the world changed imho.
Also pretty interesting too to watch the clip of Ann Coulter on Bill Mahrer literally getting laughed at by the leftists when she predicted Trump would win. Like guffaws and knee slapping. Which shows how out of touch the left had become to a rising tide of discontent.
After I tend to my chicken, planning on watching Part 2 this afternoon.

2008 was all Hope and Change because that's the way the media sold it. The Media now sells Trump as the next Hitler who thinks the Klan are fine people and all Mexicans are rapists and shockingly people are pissed off. -
I'm not debating that or bias by PBS even in this presentation. Over 12 years in the course of events, there was a lot of 'oh, yeah...I forgot about that' moments recollected while watching the episode(s).SFGbob said:

Dissent against Obama was unpatriotic and racist. Its the way it is always framed. W was divisive. Reagan was divisive. Democrats are never divisive.
Rush said he hoped the Obama agenda failed and Mitch or someone said he hoped it was a one term presidency. Neither statement is shocking or unexpected. It wasn't like calling W a draft dodger or using the FBI And CIA to spy on Trump or anything.
Did Nancy and Chuckie want the Trump agenda to fail?
Trump tried to get a DACA deal early on and they shit on him
I don't think politics are supposed to be non divisive anyway. Its another fake narrative -
That angered me so much. The 8 years worth of "Dissent is Patriotic" bumper stickers were peeled off in an instant when Obama was elected. That is always the case in partisan politics, but branding opposition as racist weaponized it to an ridiculous degree.RaceBannon said:

Divisive is another of the words that leftards have tried to co-opt. Leftards aren’t divisive. They are just acting for the benefit of the sheeple. Now, conservatives are divisive because they want to impose a white Christian male theocracy on the US. The Handmaid’s Tale is a reality show to a leftard. Of course, the show has more similarities with Islam, but that’s beside the point. Just like blacks can’t be racist. Sanctuary cities to protect illegal alien felons isn’t divisive. Sanctuary cities protecting constitutional protected gun owners is clearly divisive.
Allowing women to off their babies in month 8 is bipartisanship. Or in Virginia’s case after being born alive. Banning abortion after 22 weeks is clearly divisive. Wanting to take away free speech and 2A gun rights from conservatives is bipartisanship.
To me it comes down to lying. Liars are divisive and there is no opportunity for any bipartisan compromise. Schiff is an inveterate liar. He is supported by almost every House dem and Senate dem.
Hell, Schumer could have had a deal with Marco on DACA but Schumer wouldn’t commit to ending illegal immigration and chain migration. Marco was an idiot and trusted Schumer who just treated him like his little bitch. Dems and many chamber of commerce republicans don’t want a bipartisan deal. They just want open borders. Give me the wall, vigorous deportation of illegal overstays, stiff employer sanctions on hiring illegals, end chain migration and you have your deal. -
What made Obama unique and new wasn't that he was black or his name. What made him unique was that he was the first anti-American, American President. Obama sold racial healing and Hope and Change but he governed just like the hack Chicago Pol he was. He had no problem using the power of the Federal Government to attack his political opponents, he had no problem making appeals based upon race, and he had an army of surrogates that included the media that would savage anyone who criticized him as a racist.
All you need to recall is the way Obama and the Rats went after Palin in 2008 and it refutes the bullshit about Obama trying to bring us together. -
Da fuq are you even talking about? Anti America American l president. LolSFGbob said:What made Obama unique and new wasn't that he was black or his name. And El oh El on Palin. Making fun of her for stupid shit she said is totally worse than calling her a Muslim born in Kenya.
You are a giant pussy. HTH -
Lot of revisionist history in that documentary. The heavy lifting on what needed to be done to address the economic meltdown had already happened before Obama took office. The fact that he didn't throw a bunch of bankers and Wall Street types in jail had nothing to do with fixing the economy and why right-wingers opposed him.
-
Weird the way they left out of the clip Obama saying he didn't know all the facts but that the police acted stupidly. Obama turned that Gates incident into a racial issue. The cops didn't and the press didn't. Obama made that an issue for no other reason that the cop was white and Gates was black and then cries about the reaction of the right?
Also, no mention that Obama's claim that Obamacare wouldn't cover illegal was a lie. The OUTRAGE was over Saint Obama correctly being called a liar.
This documentary is pure partisan crap. -

If I were the cop in the Gates deal I would have told Obama to fuck off when told about the "beer summit". JFC. -
All the opposition to Obama is depicted as coming from anger and racism. And the gall of the motherfucker who's entire political party is now consumed with racial identity politics warning about voices urging us to fall back into our respective tribes is just too fucking rich. Obama spent 8 years hyping racial politics. The son of bitch hired Al Sharpton to be the head of his get out the vote effort and then turns around and condemns anyone who might play racial politics? Look in the mirror motherfucker, your entire Presidency was about racial and ethnic politics.

That was a good series. I'd recommend watching the Bannon, Reich, and Coulter interviews in Youtube. There was a pollster too. Frank Lutz or something. He gets kind of weepy. It's annoying.
-
To me it isn't that complicated. The left has continued to move further and further to the left, while criticizing the right for being unreasonable. Has the right not given in on Gay Marriage? Have the right not given a wink & nod to abortion for 50 years while objecting to "Shout Your Abortion" type libs?PurpleThrobber said:

It's the slow creep of socialism, with shit like Zinn's "People's" History of the US and the NYT 1619 project greasing the skids for the ultimate overthrow of the Capitalist system in favor of what the hard & far left thinks is better.
Unfortunately, the US is not the racist, xenophobic, oppressive nation the left needs to believe and propagandize about to get their wish, so the pendulum is going to smack their power-hungry little asses about every 8 years or so when they go too far.
Obama let too many "critical theory" educated termites into his Administration, hired his inept basketball buddy Arne Duncan to run the Dept of Ed, and appointed his flunky, unqualified, POS partisan buddy Erik Holder as AG. To many Americans, it showed Obama to be an ideologue, reckless, careless, and throwing his lot in with power-hungry, America-last group of assholes who lust for power and unwarranted "revenge" - but which really means getting power and riches at the expense of the voters they act like they care about.
I like Obama, still. But as a two time supporter, I can also say he was a pretty weak, ineffectual President, especially in his 2nd Term. -
Not to mention the most corrupt President in history. Spying on a competing Presidential campaign. Wire tapping reporters. Lying to the American people about their health benefits. Using the IRS to take away the rights of everyone but liberals. Holder lying, Rice lying, The Bitch lying. Surrounding himself with some of the most corrupt and racially divisive individuals in the country.TurdBomber said:

The list goes on and on. -
Thank God he was weak and ineffectual. He did enough damage as it was. We are locked down right now because of political hacks like barry and the weak minded bureaucrats that he supported.
-
He despises America. Thank god he was too big of a pussy to do much.

I am just trying to find out the hidden sexual meaning of "tend to my chicken" that @PurpleThrobber keeps referring
