Cato joined Davidson's staff after having served as a graduate assistant at Vanderbilt from 2011 through 2013, where he worked alongside new UW offensive coordinator John Donovan, who was the Commodores' coordinator and also earned a master's degree in leadership and organizational performance
That three-year stretch was easily the most successful in modern Vanderbilt history. The Commodores went 24-15 over those three years, won nine games each in 2012 and 2013, and finished in the AP top 25 each of those years.
During those three years, Vandy posted three of the top-four total yardage marks in school history, including a school-record 4,936 yards in 2012. That team averaged 30.1 points per game, also a school record. -

Can't handle the ups and downs though. The down is coming when Oregon hires someone we all wanted.
Here's to 9 win seasons, storming the field once every 4 years when Oregon is down, and going less than 100% in Apple Cups. W00F

TE coach is usually the lowest guy on the coaching importance totem pole. We need a recruiter in this position. We'll find out a lot based on how things go with Yary assuming we're still after him

We now have three former OC's on our offensive coaching staff. All of them averaged under 30ppg as coordinators before collaborating their talents at UW. I AM STOKED!!!!

I don’t really get this. I know Paopao wasn’t a great recruiter but TE was always one of our best and deepest positions. I hope this guy is a dynamite recruiter

It makes no sense from the outside. Unless Paopao was so obviously an inept recruiter, I don't see how replacing him with a no name GA, which is exactly what Paopao was eight years ago, has any upside. This was the one concern I had about Jimmy, especially as a first year head coach. We know he’s cocky and we have loved that about him as the DC, but that could really hurt if he thinks he is good enough that everything will just work out.
