I know this was meant in jest, but it's actually one of the first things I thought about ... CUOG! won't be a Duck problem anymore.dnc said:Mike Leach is no longer in the conference.

I wonder what random SEC team Leach will do oddly well against. We know he will lose the Egg Bowl every year

If WSU was smart, they’d hire Harrell.

Seth Littrell is the moor proven Harrell.ntxduck said:If WSU was smart, they’d hire Harrell.

His name's a lot less synonymous with Leach though.IPukeOregonGrellow said:

Yes I know he played under assistant coach Leach and coached under Leach).
This is a pretty good option for them. -

Inside USC hates Harrell but Scott hates everyone these days and USC should NOT be an Air Raid school anyway.
However Harrell may think he can replace Helton. USC is no WSU but still -
Not sure why they hate Harrell, uscs offense wasn’t the problem this yearRaceBannon said:Inside USC hates Harrell but Scott hates everyone these days and USC should NOT be an Air Raid school anyway.

They have a vision of what a USC offense should be and it's not the Air Raid.ntxduck said:

It's elitist but also mostly true. When you recruit at the level SC should be able to recruit to you shouldn't have to go Air Raid.
It's a whole new world down there, though.

If you think Husky fans are anchored to the past follow USC guys on twitter. And they really HAVE a past
But with those receivers its a great offense as long as Jimmy Lake isn't on the other side -

Air raid is common now. The Saints basically run it in the NFL. You can run air raid and still run the ball a good amount. Less men in the box, it might even be better. It is better if you don’t have a great OL that can maul the opponent.RaceBannon said:Inside USC hates Harrell but Scott hates everyone these days and USC should NOT be an Air Raid school anyway.

Yeah I don't disagree. Spreading teams out to run is valuable and smart. Throwing the ball in an offense that gets people open is valuable and smart. The Air Raid has some real advantages when done well.RoadDawg55 said:

Most Air Raid coaches are completely clueless about defense though. -
Harrell only ran the ball 9 times a game like leach
Air raid isn't spreading out to run
Its spreading out to pass
And its the kill your QB offense. USC almost ran out -
I don’t think practicing against it is good for a defense either. Your scout teams are also guys that were recruited to play in the air raid so you don’t get a good look.dnc said:

I don’t like the air raid, but it can be done well. Is what LSU doing considered the air raid? I can’t keep up. Basically the best offenses are spread types. LSU still uses a TE and I think good TE’s are extremely valuable when used correctly. -
LSU has a great running back and they use him. They also throw to him
Burrows runs too. He gets a lot of first downs
But look at the LSU O line.
