After Wilson spiked the ball they should have gone with a sneak on a silent count. Wilson pushes his hands against centers nuts and ass, take the snap and fall forward. If stopped go again. That should be a day 1situational offensive install. Pop Warner level shit. Fucking stupid.

Should never have spiked the ball in the first place. Wilson had an easy sneak on 1st down.

Good point. Either way, what followed was stupidity.

Complete waste of a down. Have no idea how they let themselves get a delay of game. Missed PI on 2nd down but the Seahawks blew it in a way that has become too common. Horrible clock management.

That fourth quarter was the best and worst of Pete Carroll all wrapped up into one agonizing loss

I said 11 wins at best in August. Even at 10-2, it seemed too good to be true. The Aints and Browns/Ravens mauled them. They just aren't elite. All that said, they should have taken the lowly Cardinals.

Injuries definitely caught up with them down the stretch. It's a good team at full health but not a deep team.

My bold prediction - they lose at Philly in similar fashion to losing at Dallas last year.

Game they could have won but Pete plays too conservative early and doesn't take the leash off Russ until it's too late.

Was a fun year but ultimately meaningless.

They'll beat Philly but then lose badly to SF
  • bad clock management at the end no doubt. ridiculous non review on the missed PI on 2nd down.

In the end though I feel a lot better about where the team is at then how I felt before the game started. 5 seed was always going to be better for them than the 3 seed and the offense getting going in the second half actually is some momentum to take to Philly. A run is not likely but they are getting healthier and will be dangerous if they can avoid playing New Orleans (guaranteed loss).

they aren't losing to Philly. that Dallas team was a lot better than this Philly team and the Seahawks own the Eagles in general and especially at Lincoln Financial. 20-17 win. Then a close game vs the 49ers that can go either way but likely against them since they'll be on the road.

New Orleans will have home field

    Not going to matter

Analytics guys say Seattle is a .500 team masquerading as a contender

I know that is what the “metrics” say, but a team with proven winners like Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll always have a chance. They also commonly play close games, sometimes when the games should not be very close.

It’s why metrics aren’t the end all, be all. Now when the Seahawks get bounced in the playoffs, guys like Chest will say I told you so, but whatever. They are a pretty good team that has been decimated by injuries late in the year.
All of this is true. Seattle’s the weird team that is simultaneously overrated by its record and underrated by the metrics. They play down to opponents too often but their entire philosophy is built around winning in the fourth quarter. And when Pete let’s Russ be Russ, they usually do.

The problem is you actually can lose in the first half against really good teams and Pete has to adjust and be more aggressive earlier. If he does, they can play with anyone.

Having the the top 3 RBs out might actually help with that.
