Ken Griswold: recruiting insider

Griswold tells his subscribers Husky staff liked Jake Browning and Brett Rypien equally. Whoever commit first gets UW's only quarterback scholarship for this recruiting class.
Rypien was "scheduled" to announce his college choice about a week or so before Browning was "scheduled" to announce his. Thus, with Ken's reasoning, Rypien gets first choice and Browning must pick from what's left.
Well, Browning suddenly makes an "unscheduled" commitment announcement for UW and the heartbroken Rypien must scratch UW off his list.
A "wild story" Griswold titles the thread.
Griswold apparently didn't consider that Chris Peterson and Jonathan Smith almost certainly nudged Browning to make a commitment because he was their preferred prospect.
UW's coaches may have liked both Browning and Rypien, but the odds they liked both "equally" like Griswold insists is very, very small.
Instead of taking a PR hit by passing on the in-state kid with an early offer, the decision was framed and fed to recruiting sites as first come, first serve.
Bottom line: Ken has been "covering" recruiting for years and still doesn't know when he's being fed some bullshit.

Nice post. It's pretty easy to understand what happened. Browning was obviously the guy they wanted.
Kim is a fucking idiot. He's either really stupid and (abundance) needs some juicy info so badly that he will make it up. He's been following recruiting for 20 years too. -
Did you get that from CoachNews?
-
To think on the farm it was both were going to wsu but Rypian secretly verbaled to wsu.
So leach told browning they weren't taking him.
Man both sites are ran by fucktards. -
It's become known that the athletic dept. only uses Kim when they want info to leak out because they know he can't keep his piehole shut.
-
Again, just planting those teen boy stalking seeds so you will fork over a bunch of money for their recruiting banquet where you'll get all the inside info
-
Has sportsboner weighed in?

"It doesn't matter which QB we get. I like them both. Let's just take whoever commits first."
Kim is dumb enough to think it works like that. Even if they liked both QB's it wouldn't work this way. The coaches pick which guy they want and see if they can get him. If they can't or the guy isn't ready, they move on to their next guy. The coaches obviously told Browning we need you to commit soon or we will have to move on. To even hint that Browning moved his date up and fucked over Rypien is fucking stupid. -
Well ... Kim Jong Vino was forming the opinion ... so FS was certainly in play in abundance
