but 2021 will be (according to Damone "DOOOG"Everyone knew 2020 was a rebuilding year just look at the Dline options. 2021 was always the year to be special.

noOffensively, besides Mason West the class is really solid. Not a big fan of the two running backs but they can get the job done. Defensively the class is a step down from years past. Covington and Smalls are great pickups, Jackson and Esteen are solid but a step down for the DB’s we have gotten in the past. Smith, Bruener and McDonald are guys where you have to trust the coaches evaluation but to have three projects on one side of the ball in one year is concerning. It’s a solid class but we can do better. This is where Jimmy needs to make the necessary changes so we can step up talent wise. Need to cut the dead weight on the staff and upgrade because we got the money.

@sonics1993 You see the staff picking anyone up for the Feb signing period? Yary?sonics1993 said:Offensively, besides Mason West the class is really solid. noIf we can somehow land Yary, a blue chip d-lineman along w/ Tre'shaun Harrison I will change my mind.
-
noonly good thing about this class is that we took 5 lineman
-
noThis is a bit of a loaded question. The answer isn't binary, or rather, just because it isn't special doesn't mean it isn't excellent. Troll rating 7/10.

I could see them picking a project player they are high on but at this moment I don’t see them landing any 4/5 stars.Beno4Life said:

Agree with all of this except I like Sunday and think he will be very good. I probably like Smalls less than you, but that’s nitpicking. He was absolutely a great get and I’m glad to have him. Esteen is really good too.sonics1993 said:Offensively, besides Mason West the class is really solid. Not a big fan of the two running backs but they can get the job done. noAs always no love for the Redman. He is going to be nails. WR class is excellent. D is a step down any way you slice it.

The class that isn't signed and hopefully not complete yet? The Poly Bowl hasn't even happened yet; how the hell do we know what UW's class looks like!?
-
but 2021 will be (according to Damone "DOOOG"
Chinned but this is an extremely down Poly class both for cfb and for UW. I don’t know if the Poly Bowl will benefit us in any tangible way this season.1to392831weretaken said:The class that isn't signed and hopefully not complete yet? 2021 Poly Bowl will be special! -
but 2021 will be (according to Damone "DOOOG"I mostly like this class. I really like the offensive group and see 2 guys who are absolutely elite in Murao and JMac. OL class is the best I can remember.
The defensive class is ok but the db situation is really disappointing. Even with Covington recommitting, it's nowhere near where it should be and feels like we just wanted to fill our spots and be done with it.
The DL thing is also irritating. I know it's a down year and we got a lot last year but I hate taking no one. -
noAlmost forgot to mention the best OL class in 20 years. Seriously. We really do have a very good offensive class. I am high on the RBs, WRs and OL, and half our TEs are great. Really great job on that side of the ball.
-
but 2021 will be (according to Damone "DOOOG"I think the components of this class is "speshul" (honestly, who spells speshul as special at this site!?"
Murao is the best offensive lineman on the best high school team for 7/8ths of the year in the whole fucking country.
The other guys are not chopped liver.
Great wide receivers and good dbs and let's not forget our specialist 195lb long snapper! Fuck yeah...
Lastly, we got savvy!
I think people are lamenting that this class could have been much better ... But fuck it. Given the ups and downs this year we got a new sheriff in town and hopefully he can cut some dead weight and we can Damone doog like never before. Can't wait! -
noNever, ever whiff on an entire position group. I don't care how many we took last year. Inexcusable.
-
All these posts and only one mention about linebackers... biggest need this year! How can Oregon possibly be signing two 5* top 10-20 talents at linebacker and we settle for two unknown’s/projects? Sad day for Washington really.

Esteen will be the best DB in the class. Dude is gonna be amazingsonics1993 said:Offensively, besides Mason West the class is really solid. yesI'll go ahead and doog here.
The offensive class is elite:
- There are three elite offensive linemen, another 4* OL who is only a short notch below those three, and a nice 3* tackle project added late for a good measure.
- There are two elite WR, one of whom is a 5* prospect by any objective measure other than his actual * ranking, and one who is a really rare combo of size and speed. A third, huge and physical WR is coming off of ACL surgery.
- There is one elite TE and one project TE.
- The QB, Garbers, shouldn't be dismissed. He has decent size and arm talent and above average mobility and toughness. At a minimum he's a talented and capable backup with the tools to step in and win a tough game.
- Running back...meh but Sunday should be a useful part of a RB committee with his strength.
Yes, defensive recruiting fails to measure up. It's not a void though. There's some star fucking going on when it comes to the defensive backs otherwise people would be more excited about them. There is an elite edge rusher and at least one solid LB coming in.
The downsides, DL and ILB, can't be ignored but they dont need to be. Its exceedingly rare for a program not in the SEC or named tOSU or USC to recruit elite classes at every position. UW has never done it. Oregon has never done it. All of the hand ringing over a couple of 5* level guys looking at Oregon ignores the fact that those guys, if they even go to Oregon, are surrounded by a class similar to UWs.
End rant. That's a lot to type on my phone. -

I still think we get someone for the DL. Losing Carlton really sucks. He was the one to get.Gladstone said:Never, ever whiff on an entire position group. I don't care how many we took last year. Inexcusable.

I was drawing a blank trying to remember the other RB. Funny. I love Adams too. I think he's a utility back or slot type guy rather than a traditional tail back but hes definitely a good football player.dnc said:

They need to pull a rabbit out of the hat somehow at DL. Getting nobody is unacceptable in spite of what I typed previously.RoadDawg55 said:

but 2021 will be (according to Damone "DOOOG"If they manage to pull said rabbit out of a hat at DL I'll be happy with the class. We get to see between now and February if Montlake Jimmy can do a better job of selling the program than the previous fearless leader.

Because Bob Gregory is our LB coach. Jackson Sirmon is the last recruit he pulled in and that was two years ago. It's pathetic and he needs to go but I don't know if Jimmy has the balls to make that call.WRDawg said:All these posts and only one mention about linebackers... biggest need this year! I hope he's gone after the bowl game but loyalty in the coaching world is hard to break and Bob has been with Jimmy for over eight years so I am not getting my hopes up.UW_Doog_Bot said:

If that's the case, then how is Jimmy not Chris Petersen Part II? Jesus make him the special teams coach if you have to but get a position coach that can recruit.sonics1993 said:
