Isn't "elite tight ends coach" kind of an oxymoron anyway? Isn't tight ends the position usually coached by a recent grad assistant or up and comer? If a coach were elite, he wouldn't be coaching tight ends, right? In that respect, Pao Pao is probably well above average in his ability to coach.

And I think this is a completely reasonable take. I don't agree with it 100% but I gladly admit I've gone back and forth on it. I certainly would not shed a tear if he were let go. I just think you're going to be hard placed to find an elite coach and elite recruiter for anywhere near what we pay PaoPao. But if we can find one I'm totally on bored.
Is there any reason to believe that UW football is being budget crunched? The numbers bear out UW AD/FB are among the most flush in the country. If PP isn't the right guy, I sure hope it isn't dollars preventing us from getting the right guy.

Budget crunched, no. I can't see them doubling what they pay PaoPao.

TE is a hard position recruiting wise. Event he good ones aren’t rated that highly and a lot of good ones play QB, WR, or another position in high school.

Cal’s secondary was mediocre huh? Lol when they have all 4 kids drafted that’ll shut your dumbass up. You come in with off base hawt takes. Like move Salvon to WR!1!1!1 or Sirmon sucks because Derek said so even though he’s talented and kids can get better1!1!1! Or Culp will never be shit1!1!1! Who played RB in HS (he’s a R-FR) but is super rare physically, your right he won’t be good if we keep PaoPao who can’t fucking coach. Comparing Gregory to Alexander is retarded. Cal lead the country in INTS last year for gods sakes. They held the Coug to 20 fucking points and a lot of empty yards. Judging a secondary solely on TEAM passing yards is fucking stupid. You know that. Be better. Haha.

Regarding DNC. Keep defending the corches!1!1!1 you can call me a doog all you want but I like talent on the roster and someone who isn’t a lazy piece of shit recruiting. That can also ya know actually coach how to run a route properly because that’s kind of I don’t know his fucking JOB. You can’t give me one example of PaoPao making a specific aspect of a players game better. He sucks. He’s always been a POS. A doog wouldn’t be calling for his head. A doog would be defending shit coaching and talent acquisition which is what you are doing.

    But move Salvon to WR!1!1!1

This is the most Ballz post I've read ever since creep killed him. Maybe it's not an intervention you need, but an exorcism.

I don't really get the Gerald Alexander hype either. I'm sure he would be fine, and I would be happy if we got him, but he doesn't deserve 600k and a co-DC title with the track record he has. He was a GA 3 years ago.

The TSIO guys are directionally right most of the time, but they overrate recruiting (or potential recruiting prowess) and underrate talent development IMO.

This entire year has been one item of empirical correction to a Ballz retard assertion after another.

And still you draft behind this idiot? This is why you are an idiot.

    Spot on.

Biggins mentioned on a pod months ago that the recruiting services are still having a terrible time learning how to rate TE.

What they’ve seen is that TE more than any other position is mis-evaluated. They try to rank dudes based off NFL potential, which is largely based on physical characteristics and skills in college. But they’ve found that TE with the most success in the draft and NFL were underrated and underdeveloped guys in high school. Basically they are guys that explode in development physically in college.

So we keep going back and forth bitching about PaoPao because he doesn’t recruit highly rated dudes but somehow has TE that are going pro left and right that weren’t highly rated.

So it’s a dichotomy that has me baffled. I’m not big on PaoPao. I don’t know if he’s a good coach, I don’t know if he’s a shit recruiter or a good evaluator of lesser talent.

I have no fucking idea, and according to Biggins, I’m not the only one.
