Congress is on pace for it's least productive session since at least 1973. The reason for this has nothing to do with Pelosi and Shiff's "political games" and everything to do with McConnell's stated strategy:
"If I'm still the majority leader of the Senate after next year, none of those things are going to pass the Senate," the Kentucky Republican told a small crowd during an event in his home state Monday. "They won't even be voted on. So think of me as the Grim Reaper: the guy who is going to make sure that socialism doesn't land on the president's desk."
You want to argue that legislation isn't getting passed because it's too "socialist" for the Republican far right in the Senate, fine, different argument, but I call bullshit on conflating the Senates lack of action with the House investigation.
Nothing was ever going to get done in this session and we all knew it.
