They do have a fascinating story. I read a book on the making of Paul’s Boutique a while back. @dnc won’t read it.
-
I never understood their appeal nor liked their music.

What a dud you are, Stalin.DerekJohnson said:I never understood their appeal nor liked their music.

I always suspected Stalin was an anti-semite. Finally the proof I was looking for.DerekJohnson said:I never understood their appeal nor liked their music.

I guess @TurdBomber is a guiding light for Derek.Mad_Son said:

Best concert by far I’ve ever been to was in 1999 in Paris. Fatboy Slim opening for Beastie Boys. Before Fatboy Slim was Asian Dub Foundation...Having recently graduated from UW it made me laugh. Even back then UW’s Asian student body was pretty big. Probably easily dwarfed by today’s enrollment judging from marketing and tv shots of the stands.

It was 92 or 93 and I saw the Henry Rollins Band, Cypress Hill and the Beastie Boys. I remember almost nothing of that show.spuden said:Best concert by far I’ve ever been to was in 1999 in Paris. I was rather "meh" on the Beastie Boys music. My wife was a fan, but she's the type that reads back stories and gets to liking the humans behind the music along with the music. I'm more sound oriented: I either like it or not, and don't read the back stories, because I'm a lazy drunk who likes to blast the tunes and DNGAF where they came from.

I saw them at Key in 1998. Good times.spuden said:Best concert by far I’ve ever been to was in 1999 in Paris. Fatboy Slim opening for Beastie Boys. So traditional Eastern European dance is part of your heritage? Doesn't sound like something that comes from Johnson's side of the family...DerekJohnson said:

I just watched this documentary on Prime.
As a film, it's not that great, but still interesting. The best part was the remaining Beasties explained how MCA got the beat for Paul Revere. Good chit.
