looking forward to the following at the actual theater:

    the irishman
    last christmas
    mr. rogers
    little women
    the star wars one

last christmas promises to be the next great british rom com in the vien of Notting Hill, 4 weddings, etc. Staring Dany Targaryen and the asisan hunk from crazy rich. also featuring the music of George Michael (RIP in Peace). not a dry eye in the house and lots of belly laughs. date night with the wife, pre and post show coitus guaranteed, or not. ewiwbi.

irishman this coming weekend. 4 hour epic with all star cast. gonna have to get the bottomless popcorn. cinerama. nuff said.

mr. rogers- should be good, no?

little women- cuz I like to take expensive naps in the theatre.

the star wars one... fam night at the mooovies. another expensive nap after an expensive dinner downtown.

Here is the plot to almost all these. Hot chick / single MILF goes back to her hometown or she has a small business and meets up with either a hunky guy who is a vet or was her ex bf. She can’t find love despite how hot she is.

That’s pretty spot on @El_K - though sometimes it’s a hunky rich dude who is too busy with his high power career to enjoy the holidays until he meets a hot MILF storekeeper/decorator with a heart of gold that teaches him about the Spirit of Christmas. (Bonus points if pets or kids are involved.)

I think there was WSJ feature on that little slice of crass cinematic commercialism. It’s a machine.

    My wife hates Christmas

She hates both Seinfeld and Christmas?

That would be a deal breaker for me.

I was "forced" to watch a marathon of those a couple years ago. The end was aways the same -- her love is so pure that she changes the man. When I pointed this out I was told I was ruining the experience.
