(Psst. Savvy isn't going to FSU.)

If UW loses out to Tenn or FSU for Savvy, we never deserved him in the first place.
-
If Savvy goes to Tenn or FSU he doesn't deserve to go here. If he leaves home I hope he at least makes a smart choice and chooses a school that makes some kind of sense for his future.TTJ said:If UW loses out to Tenn or FSU for Savvy, we never deserved him in the first place.

I only bump my old posts when I'm right.TTJ said:The noise out of Tallahassee is that Smalls wants to see improvement in the Noles, who are coming off their first losing season since 1976. FSU's O-line was an abomination last year; even with marked improvement, the line is still likely to be a major liability. Bill Connelly has the Noles going 7-5, which is hardly going to satisfy Taggart's detractors. Nor will the offseason hiring of a Briles as OC.
FSU opens with a pick 'em against Boise State in Jacksonville. Then they play at UVa (who is going to be decent) in week three. There is a distinct possibility FSU limps into Death Valley on October 12th with a 3-2 record--potentially even 2-3. After Dabo does butt stuff to them, the pitchforks will really come out. -
Urban to FSU please god

We already know their bags are “drippy”. Right toot toot.UWhuskytskeet said:Why go to FSU when you can make millions at Tennessee?

IF they do it’s going to be a long fucking year and Willie doesn’t see year 3.
Some hawt takes in this one. PGOS’s is pretty good... which I upvoted originally because we can’t have nice things. -
FSU is gonna pay Taggart a $18M buyout. Unreal.
-
Most likely he will stay in the Northwest. Will probably end up as a duck after the smoke clears and the dust settles.

Plus 3m still owed to oregon plus 1.3 owed to ucf.TTJ said:FSU is gonna pay Taggart a $18M buyout. Unreal.
Imagine jen having the ballz to do something like this.
Imagine having the boosters that cared about football enough to force this hand in the AD. Some even saying it was privately funded. -
They care and expect to win. I knew Taggart was going to be axed this year or next. They should have never hired him, but they deserve props for not letting this go on and cutting bait early.TTJ said:FSU is gonna pay Taggart a $18M buyout. Unreal.

Frankly I'm shocked that an AD stupid enough to hire him and saddle themselves with that buyout had the brains to fire him. There can't possibly be anyone outside FSU circles who is surprised he failed. Is there? This was more of a guarantee than Ty or Gilby at UW.

It’s gonna be awesome when FSU hires Kiffin.

FSU was built similar to the Boise model. For decades, FSU played and scheduled as an independent picking who they played and when. FSU and Miami were doomed once they joined a conference. Being close to fertile recruiting grounds, FSU will pop every now and then but they will never return to their glory days. Boosters will wring their hands and throw money at it but it isn't going to happen.
-
They're in the ACC which, outside of Clemson, is the worse P5 conference wiff a bullet. I don't think recruiting talent is an issue, it's been coaching going back to Bowden getting old, Jimbo getting comfy after winning a natty and then hiring Will. FSU is very similar to USC.TommySQC said:FSU was built similar to the Boise model. For decades, FSU played and scheduled as an independent picking who they played and when. To add to the recruiting piece, their last 5 classes (2015-2019) were ranked like this:
2015 - 3 (7) 247 ranking in parentheses
2016 - 3 (2)
2017 - 6 (6)
2018 - 11 (14)
2019 - 19 (26)

0 championships until they joined the ACC.TommySQC said:FSU was built similar to the Boise model. For decades, FSU played and scheduled as an independent picking who they played and when. Won the ACC each of their first nine years.
Lost two conference games total in those nine years.
They just need a coach. -
There is no reason for Florida State not to be good. A great coach could still build a monster program there. It just needs to become a cool place to play again.
Florida schools lose a lot of top players to the top SEC teams and Clemson. Get some of those guys, evaluate better with the others, and develop. -
And tallatrashy is a shit hole so all there is to do is play football, practice football, think about football, play class, think about banging chicks, and then of course bang chicks.

There is enough talent at FSU today for a great coach to win 11 games next season.
Neither talent nor coaching alone wins. Its the combo plate that gets it done -

True, and there is enough talent at UW for decent coach to win 9 gamesRaceBannon said:There is enough talent at FSU today for a great coach to win 11 games next season.

So if UW wins out and wins their bowl game and has 9 wins, where does this leave you? Still FirePete, or he’s a decent coach who won 9 games in a down year?FirePete said:

You act like firing Willie was some kind of act of courage or evidence of CARING about football again. It wasn't. Willie was so obviously over his head there was no way anyone could justify keeping him. Even Todd Turner would've fired the guy.dirtysouwfdawg said:

Watch peterman not have the courage to make three tough decisions about coaches and then pop off.GreenRiverGatorz said:

It was an obvious act done by a school that gives a fuck about football. -
The same school that couldn't invest enough in their facilities to keep their national champion head coach? The same dipshit program that hired Willie Taggart in the first place?dirtysouwfdawg said:
