A record 67.3 million U.S. residents speak a foreign language at home, the latest sign of the growing influence of immigrants on American culture.

Census Bureau data shows that homes that do not speak English first grew seven times faster than those that do.

The data, analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies, found that in the top five American cities, an average of 48% speak a foreign language at home, mostly Spanish or Chinese. And in 90 major cities, more than half speak a non-English language at home. 59% in Los Angeles alone.

The analysis said, “The Center for Immigration Studies finds that 67.3 million residents in the United States now speak a language other than English at home, a number equal to the entire population of France. The number has nearly tripled since 1980, and more than doubled since 1990

Clearly we need to open the gates even wider and increase immigration instead of reducing it.

Language is an indication of culture and assimilation. Spanish started out as language spoken at home and now we have Spanish ballots and press dos for espanol.

I got the point and it’s not a problem.
Of course it isn't, you're an open borders guy.

More than 1/5 of the population is speaking a foreign tongue as their primary language. This points to the fact that we've got an immigration problem. Long past time to close the gates, and keep them closed for several decades, if not permanently.

Now we have recorded messages where you are forced to listen to instructions in espanol, sometimes even before English, before you can even press the button.

What’s the problem, excatly. If they are contributing members of society we need them.
The US doesn't need more unskilled labor. The US doesn't need more immigrants. It needs less of both.

It needs more of both as long as there are open and available jobs.

They not not contributing members if their allegiance is not to America. There is only room for Americans here. It's always been that way. America first. My grandparents were immigrants speaking a foreign language but learned english as quickly as possible and if you asked who or what they were the answer was Americans!

Of course that number should be smaller since there is 22 to 40 million illegals here but the roundups are coming.

Unemployment is at historic lows (thanks Trump!). Everyone I talk to needs workers. Skilled and unskilled. Of course the media tells us the economy sucks, but that’s not reality.
Our struggles with hiring is bordering on the absurd.

I call into question the stats that say 1/5 don't speak English at home. I would believe 1/5 know a language other than English with most being a second language.

That being said, I agree with Mike, WGAF.

Again, they can hire their unskilled labor from the large pool of unemployed socialists. Two birds with one stone. Give these morons jerbs to support themselves and they won't have the time to attend antifa rallies or agitate for socialist revolution.

I got an order entry chick who fucking sucks. Speaks Spanish at home but that is the least of the problems.

I’d rather hire a hardworking immigrant than a piece of shit green haired pierced lip lazy socialist antifa asshole HondoBro who is going to bitch about “living wages” on day 1. Hard pass
You're just going to grow the population of Hondo Bros with open borders. Importing millions of Mexicans every year reduces available jerbs and dilutes the culture. Pairing open borders with advances in AI (which leads to elimination of many occupations) is a disaster waiting to happen. It's not something the dipshits in Congress are even willing to hear, much less address.
