Was it illegal or not?

They made it illegal because it’s an unfair advantage that a home team can blend their uniform colors to the surroundings of the end zone in order to deceive.
-
Using players under 5'8" should also be illegal since they can so easily hide behind other players. Fucking stupid call.

Stupid rule maybe, but not a stupid callGreenRiverGatorz said:Using players under 5'8" should also be illegal since they can so easily hide behind other players. Fucking stupid call.

I agree the rule probably shouldn’t be there. However, a head coach, especially one with Peterman’s experience should no the rule book inside and out. When it happened I was saying out loud “I don’t think that’s legal”. If I’m thinking that, a Div 1 coach with Pete’s resume should know that.
Stupid rule, but Pete should have known the rule. -
Pete says you can lay down after the ball is kicked. They were told it was legal last year.
We shall see. -
I remember seeing it flagged before. I think the NFL even has the same rule.NeGgaPlEaSe said:
Not a rule, it’s interpreted in such. For example, the intent was to deceive .... that’s what they called. So you tell me a fucking ref in any other conference that flags a play as “intent to deceive”greenblood said:I agree the rule probably shouldn’t be there. No deception or trickery allowed in football

Intent to decieve is not a new rule. Nothing was added about it in the last year or two. It's been exactly the same since it was added in 2009. Why does play by play guy make shit up, he knows anyone can read the rulebook for free and see he is wrong. Only specifically mentioned for faking a player substitutions. Based on the outrage every time this penalty is called it looks like it has only been called 3 times...

Makes me so mad. If byu play and this play were correctly flagged for intent to decieve all trick plays should be illegal.

It wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the game you fucking losers.
