It does get thrown around a lot... for me, we suck until we don’t.RoadDawg55 said:
I don’t agree that the PAC 12 is weak. That’s gets thrown out too much. They were definitely inexcusable losses.dirtysouwfdawg said:
This is a currently weak Pac-12. Both inexcusable loses.Jnewblud said:
They may be having down years, but Oregon, USC, and UCF aren't cupcake D1 teams either. Stanford and Cal aren't an East Carolina or Central Michigan, never will be. A high caliber Ayden Hector type committing to a Stanford, USC, Oregon, UCF or even a Cal is unsurprising - and that is illustrative of the difference in caliber, clout and "standards" even in down years. Oregon, USC, UFC, Stanford and Cal draw and have greater numbers of high level competitive players than average D1s (or have a reasonable expectation of it), that is the point, and that is the "standard" being referred to.AtomicDawg said:
Stanford got the shit beat out of them with a backup qb at usc. Got the shit beat out of them at UCf. Their offense scored one TD vs northwestern. Couldn’t score a TD vs Oregon. That is a shit Stanford team that dominated uw. Take all the screenshots you need. Let alone it was basically their 2nd and 3rd string at a ton of key positions.Jnewblud said:
Cal and Stanford aren't shit teams. Cal was in the top 25 for nearly two weeks, and Stanford is always an above average D1. Competively, neither should ever really be overlooked.AtomicDawg said:
I think the losses to shit teams have kids a little worried.dnc said:
I don't love the "probably" but I'm not particularly worried here.DoogCourics said:“USC and Notre Dame, they’re always hitting me up, letting me know, they’re still interested in me,” said McMillan. “Coach (Keary) Colbert at USC and Coach (Delvaughn) Alexander at Notre Dame are the ones. They want me to take official visits there but I’m probably not doing that because I’m solid to Washington.”
McMillan said he plans to sign in December then do track in the spring for San Joaquin Memorial, which doesn’t allow early graduation.
“Track in college is an option for me because it gets you in shape,” said McMillan.
PAC 12 teams are too close in talent level to each other (the other Power 5 conferences are top heavy, SEC Bama-LSU-Georgia, ACC Clemson, Big 10, Ohio State, Penn State, Wolverines, Big 12 Sooners, Longhorns ).
Believe UW's 2019 and 2020 recruiting classes will tip the scale.
Cal is good on defense. Their offense is garbage.
Have some freaking standards.
STFU or go back to doogman.
I would be willing to reevaluate this statement after bowl season though.
And yes Jewbud, placing guys in the nfl is awesome but the true scale for measurement should be wins and losses.
Being in the top 3 or 4 in placing guys in the league yearly would be amazing BUT if that’s not resulting in NY6 bowl wins and occasional playoff appearances then are the coaches just good at individual development and not creating a winning team....?
Wins and losses, that’s it my guys. No more moral victories. No more spin selling, no more silver lining. Just win. -
Just like Georgia lost to South Carolina because it is an ancient rival game and they play every year and know and hate each other a SEC team in the Pac 12 would have to navigate the same
USC can look like shit losing to an inter sectional opponent but get back in league and the dynamic shifts
Its why teams don't go undefeated. So Auburn beat Oregon what if the next three weeks they had to play Washington, Utah, and USC?
Boobs is dead and gone now. The Pac 12 doesn't suck. Some of the best games this year are in the Pac -
In 2016, the PAC 12 had two top five teams. I think it’s better now and there are more good teams. We need to win marquee games, but it would also help if these “neutral” games weren’t in SEC territory.AtomicDawg said:
im not saying all those teams would go undefeated in the PAC 12. Barely anyone goes undefeated. But I don't think it would be that difficult for any of those 5 to win the conference this year.UWhuskytskeet said:This pussy self-loathing view of the Pac12 has manifested itself into the national narrative. Shit the fuck up, it's a middle of the road P5 conference this year. Being whiny bitches about it makes the situation worse.
this conference sucks until it doesn't. Ohio state embarrassed the conference champ in back to back years. again there is not a single team in conference that would favored on a neutral field against the top 5 of the premiere confence in the country. That's not good. Someone needs to step up and it doesn't appear like anyone will until usc gets their shit together. Uw Oregon and Utah are all better programs right now but not close to becoming elite. They are all going to live in the 15-25 range.
If you want to compare the PAC 12 vs the big 12 or big 10 that's or acc that's different after the top of each of those leagues. After Oklahoma Ohio state and Clemson those leagues have their own problems. Pac 12 is probably comparable to the big 10 after Ohio state. -
Pac12 maybe be better, but still not an excuse for the offense not to have an identity. If we have some what a competent offense we will be undefeated.
-
That has nothing to down it what we were talking about. Yes, the offense sucks.FirePete said:Pac12 maybe be better, but still not an excuse for the offense not to have an identity. If we have some what a competent offense we will be undefeated.

stfu about USC. They're long gone, and have been for more than a decade. Things change. USC is just another PAC 12 team now, they are middle of the road at best. They've won 1 actual championship on the field, no one but USC fans and doogs that lick their cleats care what they did pre-BCS. The North has been carrying the mantle for years now.AtomicDawg said:

Even by fucked-up, moronic, completely clueless OBK accounting which absolutely no one ascribes to, SC's 1 championship is still literally infinitely better than the rest of the conference.oregonblitzkrieg said:

Urban wouldn’t take a job at any old pac 12 school. You’ll see soon enough. I once thought the same as i started watching games in 1990. Usc was just whatever. Then they hired a real coach and I saw what that looked like. It’s different different.oregonblitzkrieg said:

Talent + coaching = success. They are missing one half of the equation which will be solved this off season.
Also I love Jalen McMillan and he is going to kill it at uw. -
You do realize both can not be true. He gone if USC hires UrbanAtomicDawg said:

McMillan committed to Washington in the summer and he's one of four Husky commits playing in the All-American Bowl, joining offensive linemen Myles Murao and Roger Rosengarten as well as athlete Sam Adams in San Antonio.
He took his official visit to Washington in September and remains solid in his commitment.
"I'm 100% with Washington," said McMillan. "I'm not taking any visits anywhere. I'll sign with them in December. I talk all the time with Coach Pete (Chris Petersen), Coach Junior (Adams), Coach (Jordan) Paopao and Coach Bush (Hamdan). They've just said to have a good time and ball out and enjoy myself."
McMillan said he's eager to see where he stands when he gets to San Antonio.
"It's exciting because it creates competition," said McMillan. "You get to see who’s the best, what everybody is really about."
The 2020 All-American Bowl is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and this year's contest will be held on Saturday, January 4th 2020 in San Antonio at the Alamodome and will be televised live on NBC. -
