The only argument left on why we should keep Romar

"We can't get anyone better"

If true, we have s shitty ass excuse for an athletic department. Essentially the mantra is "why even try. We know we can't do it." Sack up and at least fucking try.

The group Romar has next year + his shitty coaching = an 11 or 12th place team in the PAC

Agree with everything except that last statement. I think you're overrating the losses of Blackwell and Wilcox. Looks like another 6-9 finish to me.

But yes, we can get someone better.

Yes this will be Romar ' s worst team ever. The shitty conference might aid Romar a bit though. Next year will mirror Tyrone's courtesy reverse- racist 4th year.
How much time does Romar spend on campus after practice? None! That worthless bastard jumps in his Benz and heads to Ezel's, then to the home of his mistress (just after lecturing a few students on the importance of religion outside of Ezel's while his order is frying).

After feeding his ho a freshly dipped 10" fry to go with the chicken, he finishes his day on the couch watching TV at home, while serious college coaches like Pat Kelsey from Winthrop and Gregg Marshall from Witchita St. Are spending 18 hours a day on campus to get to and win the tournament. (Guys the experts from dawgman said weren't good enough for UW).

I fucking almost ripped the am radio out my vehicle when those dumb fucks said that; then followed up with "then who we gonna get"? The same thing the three stooges said before Ty's 4th year...exactly and verbatim.

Please somebody follow LoRo home. Either we pinch him in scandle or he'll be here for 5 more years minimum. No more firing black coaches here. Especially with Romar ' s tourney appearances back in the ice ages.

    1) The "we can't get anybody better" ranks right up there with "who are you going to replace him with" for most worthless responses to assessing the quality of a coach that is on the hot seat (to whatever degree that is). As others mentioned, it's the job of the AD to have a list of such names with the ability to quickly act upon in a moment's notice. Second, as we just with Chris Petersen getting hired, there's some allure to a job at the University of Washington.

    2) There's no doubt that Romar's getting killed right now because he struck out trying to go for the elite prospects with not enough quality of fallback guys to have a solid program. The reason he started going after the elite prospects was because he realized that the Level B recruits that he had that built the foundation of the program he could never get past the Sweet Sixteen with and he wasn't a good enough in-game coach to win close games against good/great squads without a talent advantage. Now that he's got a borderline inferior squad (by his prior standards) you continue to see the areas where in-game strategy and fundamentals are not hallmarks of his program.

    3) I've heard a ton of people questioning whether Wichita State is THAT good. Like PL_SS said, hearing on Doogman radio the opinion shared on Gregg Marshall was comical. Going back to his days at Winthrop he got to 7 NCAA Tournaments in 9 years. He's transformed Wichita State into a team that has finished in the top 2 of the Missouri Valley Conference for the last 5 years after taking his first 2 years there to turn the program around from the depth that it was at. Flat out, the guy can coach. He's the kind of coach that you'd pay top dollar to to try to pry away if you could.

Nope Tequilla, he's not good enough to replace Romar. What these fucks like fetters and Kim don't understand is that coaching is built on relativity. If you win 9 NAIA national titltes, chances are you'll win multiple national titles given relatively the same athletes in a similar conference.

You telling me Gregg Marshall couldn't win a title at Kentucky? Guarantee he could make a better record out of Romar ' s '13-'14 squad. Romar has zero ability to coach a traditional basketball team. How about coach that teaches fundamentals? Any coach can recruit 10-12 6-3 to 6-8 athletes that can play defense and transition to easy dunks.

How about recruit a few bigs, swings, SF's, PG's, Shooters and teach them to play fucking BASKETBALL. Fuck you Romar you're a fraud. We've seen his teams unable to play fundamental basketball in every sweet 16, , 2nd round, 1st round, NIT and pac12 tourneys. Willingham showed more smarts than Romar. How many 10-0, 16-0, 20 -0 runs did we see this year without Romar calling a timeout? It's because he didn't know what to do after a timeout.. He just prayed and waited for his defense to create 2 off a steal.

The who would you get argument is so fucking stupid. We could hire a young up and comer from a small school or who is currently an assistant and he could become the next Billy Donovan. That's why the AD and his staff keep tabs on what is going on around the country. It's a risk, but we have seen all there is to see with Romar. The same doogs that defended Sark because he was "learning on the job" defend Romar. What is Romar's fucking excuse for recruiting this shitty? Other than Wilcox and NWG, we don't have shit.

Pickings are slim to get a proven winner from a BCS school, but money talks. I think the most important thing is to get a guy who knows how to play the game in recruiting. You can turn it around very fast in basketball. Get a guy that has very strong connections to some top AAU programs and see what happens. I've had enough of this shit.

I don't know about you guys, but this isn't college football. No one has the patience or the interest to let a coach ride through 2 more mediocre seasons just off of his reputation and 2 sweet 16's. And failing on getting some nationally sought 5 stars is such a pathetic excuse for the fallback dreck we watched this year; it was terrible planning of a recruitment strategy. Romar's just gotten too fat and full off a pretty underachieving run during the 2000's; Give a younger coach a chance. Don't give him the ridiculously long contract. If he fails and it's obvious he won't get it done, boot his ass and start over.

If he had some top notch recruits lined up, I could see the argument to keep him (not that I'd neccesarily agree). That's not happening.

Sorry, Rollball did not go after the elite recruits out of some "vision" of getting beyond the S16.

Roll went after - if you can call it that - those recruits because he's lazy and it was easier to say you're trying for the guys everyone knows about than actually going out and finding talent elsewhere.
