Hearing Calabro say "Kemp" does something for me.

Creepy. -
If we are going to talk about the # 8 vs. #9 seed of the Pac 12 tournament I am out, but if we want to talk about creepy things then I am back IN.
-
The season was over the first day practice started.
-
Little know fact: Ben Stein is tea party stooge.
-
Man, this is hard to watch.
-
Our bigs are so fucking worthless.
I'd take the Mike Jensen/Hakeem Rollins dreckfest over these fucks. -
he'd be a good fit hereTheGlove said:Little know fact: Ben Stein is tea party stooge.

On the bright side, maybe Darin Johnson is getting it.

I watched my first minute of UW basketball since January. Nice final play drawn up by Romar. Dribble around then NWG tries to isolate his guy and jacks up a contested three.

Romar has set himself up for life.
He's a great guy ... He'd be great on TV or coaching at Portland State.... Or Oregon Tech ... Or SPU ... Or Whitman ...
If he's back for 2015 the season is officially over. -
.... And this isn't HHB speak ... He is a great great guy. He say down and talked with me for 15 minutes one time ... Doesn't even know me ... Just say down and shot the shit with me ...

A Romar coached team never fails to disappoint.
Tie game with 40 seconds left. Utah entered the game as a 5.5 point favorite in Vegas.
I still had faith that a Utah -5.5 would happen.
With 35 seconds left in the game and a timeout, there's still at least 3 possessions left in the game. Pull everybody out over the 3 point line and get penetration to the basket and play the steal/foul game and force your opponent to make 4-6 free throws before having to resort to playing the need to shoot a contested 3 point shot.
As soon as you saw the set on the inbounds play it was obvious that the play call was a screen to try to get Wilcox open for a quick 3 (which even if he makes it is stupid in the sense that it gives Utah 25 seconds then to play for the last shot). Utah isn't stupid and easily had that play defended. Instead of having secondary action off of that design to get a quick score, there was nothing set up on it other than running more or less a 3 man weave at the top and try to find the first person that could get enough of a look to jack up a shot.
Fucking dreckfest coaching as usual by Romar ... time for him to get an extension. -
The drawn up play prior was just as bad. Everyone stood around while CJ Wilcox tried to post his guy up at the 3 line. After a few futile attempts by CJ to shake him off, NGW comes back to the ball, takes it, drives as the shot clock is expiring and makes the play.RoadDawg55 said:I watched my first minute of UW basketball since January. Ernie gives a backhanded comment that was spot on. Saying something like Good Point Guards make good coaches i.e. Goss just bailed out potato head. -
The only time isolation basketball works is if the guy in the isolation situation is a great passer - doubly so if you are talking about someone in the post.

I can't wait for the NIT!

He is a great guy. I have a similar story when I went to a football practice in 2010. It was the first and last practice I will ever go to. Anyways, Romar was there with Brett Kingma, who was a recruit. They separated when Romar went and talked to some Fleenor type buttsniffers who had to shake Romar's hand and bother him for a few minutes.fivehundredmileDAWG said:.... And this isn't HHB speak ... I was busy watching Cody Bruns get his Wes Welker on when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and Romar asked me where Brett was. I told him I had no clue who Brett was. He laughed and said he thought I was a recruit's friend who was hanging out with him. He told me he can't keep up with all the people who come up with recruits. He then asked me how I thought UW would do this year in football and told me I should make sure to get some tickets to UW basketball games.
My dad then started talking with Romar and how he had season tickets and he had been watching the Tacoma players (Isaiah, Abdul) for years. Romar then stayed and talked to him for probably 5 minutes about mutual people they knew in Tacoma and other casual shit. He had a few people come up to him during his conversation with my dad, shook hands and told them he would come talk to them in a few minutes. He's a great guy. That said, I still want a new basketball coach. Oh, yeah, cool story bro.

The last play he drew up was brutal.
It's not hard to run a set that gives you 4-5 legitimate offensive options within 5-10 seconds of game play without doing anything too super unique or innovative. All it takes is execution. -
Oregon Tech is a REAL basketball school with multiple natties.fivehundredmileDAWG said:Romar has set himself up for life.

Romar doesn't know the importance of a post player. Still hasn't figured that out. Mr Potato Head's offense is the equivilent of the run and shoot. It will win a few games but never the grand prize. I think he knows the importance of a post player. He just doesn't know how to implement one into his offense or develop one. The good post recruits don't want to come here because Romar doesn't have a track record of developing them. The only post player that really developed under his watch was MBA, and I always felt like we should have been getting more out of him. Hawes came in polished, and Brockman's game was brute strength.puppylove_sugarsteel said:fivehundredmileDAWG said:.... And this isn't HHB speak ... He is a great great guy. He's been there before. He knows how to win conference championships, he knows how to win conference tournaments, he knows how to get to the Dance, he knows what it takes to get a No. 1 seed to the Dance, he knows what it takes to get to the Sweet Sixteen.puppylove_sugarsteel said:fivehundredmileDAWG said:.... NOW...if you can find someone that has a better track record, sign him up. -
Must now find other stuff to do rather than watch the NIT on TV..... if it is on TV. I'm not disappointed. If cactus league Husky softball was on the tube, I wouldn't watch it either.
