UW AD Morale

Morale right now inside the AD has never been higher.
The view from inside on Sark's staff was that they lacked proper conduct and professionalism. There was that feeling of adults not being in charge. Also, the guy strongly believes that Sark would have been canned if he lost the apple cup.
Clearly, those on the inside are very happy with the coaching change. Mind you this is just what I'm hearing.....not certain until confirmed by ReedStrong or sportboner.

We were right, that much is clear. -
Woodward got an earful when Sark led his GO HUSKIES! chant at coach James' memorial.

This has been one of my strongest arguments against Sark's image in the AD ... Most of my friends think he was great .... One still refers to him as a great 'playcaller' ...

He was an above average recruiter of wide-outs and QB's. Everything else...not so much.

who hired Sark? -
who hired Sark?
Your mom...?
I dunno ... Scott Woodward ...? Same guy who didn't care to keep him...?
Why do I feel like Terri Thrapp? ... Have I gone FS? -
easy on the cherry wine 500... let's simply not forget to include the bad with the good... woody dug deep into his bag of tricks to hire sark and so the fact it took 5 years to get rid of sark and woody didn't actually do the breaking up means there's still a lens of suspicion i have for him.
-
My point is that it was so obvious even Woodward figured it out ... I admire you for hanging onto your lens of skepticism ... I've left mine in my pocket for a good 5 weeks now... Been into the 'ole doogery...
Your point is well taken.

Yes I still get the usual crap of "Well you gotta give Sark credit. He built this program to the point where UW could land a great coach. He stock the cupboard full."
I was like he inherited a pretty full cupboard too but you fucking Doogs refuse to ever acknowledge that. -
I heard more or less the same from my source on upper campus. Not a lot of Sark fans in Gerberding Hall.HeretoBeatmyChest said:Talked to a buddy who has a contact in the AD who is fairly high up.....

I will say this and I said it the day it happened. Whether by luck(likely) or not I will give Woodward credit for not even making an attempt to stop Sark leaving to a conference rival. That move alone spoke volumes. He act as if we'd be fine and he had a plan all along. He eventually landed Petersen and UW received more money in the exchange as well.
I also said all year long had UW lost to WSU to finish 7-5 that Sark was going to be fired. I think Woodward's actions, supposedly interviewing Mora two weeks prior when UW played UCLA as me convinced had WSU held on that Sark was toast.
I even PM'd Chest that I knew of a booster who had spoke to other boosters and they weren't happy with Sark. Not necessarily his average record but the cheating, being a drunk. I was even told that Stephanie had moved out and moved to Cali back in October. So they were suspecting that Sark was on his way out either by firing or by him leaving.
Even though we love to mock this saying and shit I even have it as my name perhaps Woodward needed more time to finally grow into being a good A.D?
Sure he fucked up by hiring Sark but that was five years ago. I'd say that week stretch from where he willingly let Sark go and stole Petersen something many big programs have tried and failed at doing deserves major kudos.
That is when he went from Pool Boy to Woodward IMO. -
This should mean that the SC pipeline has not only been shut-off permanently and the damn thing dismantled. It was 25 years ago that Mike Lude was fired and replaced by SC assisant AD Barbara Hedges and the applause echoed loud off upper campus ivy-covered walls for UW's first ever m woman athletic director. Believe it or not, there were Husky oldtimers even before I was an oldtimer who cussed and swore that the blond Botox bitch was coming north from L.A. with a Trojan Horse hidden in her cunt.
Let us remember that five years ago, Woodward was just as much an AD-in-training as Sark was a head-coach-in-training. Our AD learned from his mistakes and made-up for it by hitting a homerun with the Petersen hire. And Sark? He's moved to a different shop where the training should be easier, but the lessens harder. -
And that is all you need to know about why UW will never have any sustained success in basketball.HeretoBeatmyChest said:Talked to a buddy who has a contact in the AD who is fairly high up.....

Romar's seat is cooler than a Supreme Court Justice's. -
War is over, we won, I would hope morale is high in the AD. Pool Boy moved up a spot to Cabana Boy
Next up, Operation LoRo - scheduled for 2014-2015. This covert ops will not be easy however -
classy poast. you're one of my favorite poasters here. fmfyfefivehundredmileDAWG said:

It's hard to fire a winning coach who bleeeads purple. Some would say it's unwise.
-
Oh yah?! Well kim heard morale in the AD is low. Don't ask his source.
Actually, I think kim's morale is low. He really wanted to be part of the "Joey's club," but all he ever got was a few noogies and an "initiation" ride in the trunk of Sark's car. -
Woodward is no dummy. He survived Louisiana politics. He's survived UW politics and flourished. He's cleaned out an incredible amout of dead wood in the AD starting with HWSNBN. He has proven to be better than the average AD in BCS schools. I was a skeptic for along time. No more.

Let me remind you that Woodward is the spawn of Emmert and Woody failed to fire Ty appropriately, Woody hired Sark out of at least 21 other better options and finally, he got Peterson only after what appears to be Sark leaving... had Sark not left (someone buy Pat Haden a drink if they see him and send me the bill) then would we still have Sark? I applaud Woody for getting Peterson but there's a shit lot of reasons to wonder if he just got lucky.
-
OTOH, he didn't fight to keep him, and he got the stadium done which basically none of us thought would happen (Hi Harv!). It's possible he got lucky. It's also possible we underestimated him.Meek said:Let me remind you that Woodward is the spawn of Emmert and Woody failed to fire Ty appropriately, Woody hired Sark out of at least 21 other better options and finally, he got Peterson only after what appears to be Sark leaving... had Sark not left (someone buy Pat Haden a drink if they see him and send me the bill) then would we still have Sark? Either way it will be interesting. -
And yet on his watch, hoop is rapidly deteriorating. So far, Woody gets a C+ ish from me. Demerits for not ass door outing Tyrone quick enough, Dude Brah and hoop.Credits for allowing Pat HadenFS and getting Pete. Bonus round points for the renovation.

The hoops comment is unfair considering UW won four conference titles in a row under his watch.kh83 said:And yet on his watch, hoop is rapidly deteriorating. So far, Woody gets a C+ ish from me. I know grade schools don't really give out letter grades anymore which is a shame because we're all about as mature as a room full of 5th graders but that's not the point. The point is if you were giving Woody letter grades, I think it'd look something like this:kh83 said:And yet on his watch, hoop is rapidly deteriorating. So far, Woody gets a C+ ish from me. Peterman: A
Stadium: A
HadenFS: B
Hoops: C (and falling)
Sark: D
Ty: F
That comes out to a 2.3 GPA. He can bring it up by fixing basketball. -
That's probably fair.CFetters_Nacho_Lover said:

OTOH, he's trending really strong. If you only look at the last year you get:
Peterman: A
Stadium: A
HadenFS: B
Hoops: D
That's a 2.75, and that's probably overly weighted down by the hoops situation.
He's been really good of late. Maybe it's just a hot streak, or maybe he's finally got this AD thing dialed in.
