About the hearsay argument... first of all I think it is bogus since we can corroborate the phone call with the complaint. But secondly, I'm doubt Congress is obliged to use any legal definitions of "hearsay." They can, but remember impeachment is for whatever the House views as a "high crime." It doesn't have to be a crime, and doesn't have to adhere to legal investigations.
So ultimately the "hearsay" argument is null -

Nobody said you can't impeach off of a whisteblower complaint...people have said this specific whistleblower's complaint is a joke. It is based off of 2nd and 3rd hand information (and Buzzfeed news of all things...effin eh) that was proven false with the release of the transcript. It was handled properly by the DNI who said it didn't meet the "Urgent" criteria because it was hearsay and therefore didn't forward it to Congress as the law says he should not. Shitt didn't like that because he already had a copy and is ready to start the circus so he went nuts.
If you really are a lawyer god bless the public defendants that have to be represented by you...
