I see what you're saying....I'm just worried about his stiff leg movement. It's almost a mini high step all the time.....just weird. We'll see.Meek said:
So what I see is a unique gait that Dante Pettis has that makes him very intriguing. In traffic his body leans way ahead of his legs so you can't really get to his feet but he seems to have the strength to get through contact moving forward and still has body control that he can go horizontal. In space the gait makes it tough for tacklers to get the right angle on him. I would suggest that this type of running style only works where a guy can still maintain lateral control (which he can) and where he's tough/violent enough to hammer through tacklers (seems to be)... call me intrigued with the unconventional.vadawg said:Still has the weirdest running style I've seen in a long time. Unless he's playing against a bunch of Desmond Trufants in college, he's going to get hit.
I do hope he works out for us....he's a good kid. -

Thanks for reminding me that Marshawn is a bitch-made version of The Bus. -

The more I see the more intrigued and optimistic I get.
Might even done my purp and gold and get some live video. -
he definitely has vision and @CokeGreaterThanPepsi @Dennis_DeYoung hate him. so he is going to be good

Roger Craig used to run with high knee action. He was difficult to tackle. It’s the top end speed where I’d be a little concerned. Newton is lacking that too. That said I think overall he’s a great find.
-
He’s going to be just like Newton. Which is a good thing to anyone that isn’t retarded. Watch.FirePete said:he definitely has vision and @CokeGreaterThanPepsi @Dennis_DeYoung hate him. so he is going to be good

How are his hands and route running?
Doesn't seem like a great fit for our new air raid offense. -
This is a negative. I’m embarrassed to wear my purp and gold after getting ass raped on Saturday.dirtysouwfdawg said:https://www.kwtx.com/content/sports/Connally-stays-undefeated-with-road-win-at-Lorena-562242731.html

He's kind of a remarkable back.

Good, cuz they are. Funny guys though -
Despite being twice as large, Bettis was half the man lynch is/wasEmoterman said:dirtysouwfdawg said:Tequilla said:There’s a noisy contingent that likes to talk about too many betas and not enough alphas ...

He'd smoke that pussy lmao -
Lynch was the best RB at breaking tackles there has been in the recent past.
Bettie was overrated. He just got the ball a ton. He never really that good. Most years he averaged under 4 a carry. -
One of them had a play where Newton missed a lane and said it was proof he didn’t have vision. It really was, “Newton is good, but he was lowly rated because he doesn’t have speed or vision.” Ahmed has a few of those every game, but nothing is ever said. I call them on their bullshit. DDY is incredibly biased towards what he thought of a recruit in a 5 min highlight video.PostGameOrangeSlices said:

I even remember Gaskin a few times being too patient or missing a hole. It happens. Newton’s vision has seemed fine to me. He’s a beast who runs as hard as anyone. I’m looking forward to when he’s the man. He will kill teams later in the game when they are tired of tackling him. -
Lotta Twoolves for a Doog board.

I don't care what people say/have said. He runs funky but holy shit.
He doesn't have elite long speed but he accelerates turns and cuts well and he seems to have great vision and awareness, not to mention the obvious power. This guy is good. -
Power with balance. The balance part was more noticeable in junior film with him getting hit more.jhfstyle24 said:

And yes, very funky style. Whatever. -
Sunday had like 260 yards on 20 carries again last weekend. I know high school stats mean nothing but that's still good to hear

Meh. I'm glad so many here are excited about this slow, mid size power back and the highlights showing him winning low speed races with smaller and slower players who dont want to tackle him. I'm trying to ignore what my eyes are telling me and get on the bandwagon. It's not working though.UWhuskytskeet said: -
KB is bad recruiter because he is lazy, but he is he a good talent evaluator.chuck said:

People get too wound up about absolute speed
I'd rather have a guy who can move the chains, fall forward and make the offense chug.
Rather than a guy who once in awhile breaks a big run but usually just slams into the offensive line or gets swallowed up for no gain -
At the end of the day, I want my assistants to be able to recruit, because I want each position coach to put a good product on the field. Recruiting matters, but if you put a good product on the field your job is safe.FirePete said:

So, that's how I evaluate position coaches.
QB: No qualms here. Hard to tell in our stupid ass offense.
RB: Carried by Gaskin, but a consistently good product, even though Boner is a lazy fuck.
WR: Blech. Jury is still out on Junior. If the WR aren't good next year I will be concerned.
TE: Consistently good product. Recruiting could be better, but is improving.
OL: Solid product. Could be better, but Huff has gotten solid results out of an OL that had some holes. Should take a leap in the next 2 years.
DL: Huge hole from lack of recruiting for 2 years, but Malloe is killing it and this will be a great product.
LB: Fucking dogshit. If you can't recruit you better have results. Greggy doesn't. Gate.
DB: Elite product. Not perfect this year but still damn good despite losing lots of experience. Every position group handled like this is a championship.
ST: Not awful this year. Still a gate for Greggy. -
My concern is if he can get out of the backfield. His initial burst is not much better than his long speed. His cutting isn't either. There were cutback lanes all over those clips that he either didn't see or just passed on. His cuts after the first level are rounded and limited in range.animate said:People get too wound up about absolute speed

Sorry but I still dont see it. I Think Newton looked way better in HS. -
