You would think blood clots would affect just older folks but no, blood clots can unfortunately be common in professional athletes. “How?” You might ask. Well there are risk factors for professional athletes,
These are:
- Dehydration
- Traveling long distances
- Birth Control pills
- Sports trauma
- Immobilization of extremity with cast and sling
- Factor V clotting disorder
So just because you are young doesn’t mean you can’t get a blood clot, especially if you are an athlete. Stay safe my friends. -
