Sark had a lot of momentum in 2010 that he never capitalized on. People forget that.
We wanted to like him. -
I bet somebody on this board is guilty of the unpardonable sin of showing up in Jim Moras' neighborhood with a fucking birthday cake. Nothing could possible be worse than that display of douchery.
-
Huh? I might have skipped work that day for that special event. My other embarrassing Doog moment came in the offseason of 2010. Softy was doing a live broadcast at the downtown UW bookstore and Sark was getting interviewed. I told my then girlfriend, now wife, that I was going and I did but going was cover to buy the engagement ring. You can get really high quality cubic zirconium at 3rd and Spring.Penace said:I bet somebody on this board is guilty of the unpardonable sin of showing up in Jim Moras' neighborhood with a fucking birthday cake. After Tyrone "Who" Willingham left this program in a tailspin, we were all craving (yeah I said craving) some semblance of respectability.JaWarrenJaHooker said:Sark had a lot of momentum in 2010 that he never capitalized on. People forget that.

Basically we were in the Battered Doog Syndrome loop.

I had tears in my eyes after the opening drive TD against LSU in Sark's first game
I said that if the Huskies were back it would look like this after the Holiday Bowl win over Classy U -
I paid $10.95 a month for a period of time that I'd rather not disclose.
-
I once told my Dad (my second one) that:
"I really like the hiring of Sarkisian. I think he is going to bring excitement and will energize the football program. Give him 4 years to get his recruits in here and install his system." -
To my credit, I told my dads on the hire that I didn't like it, hiring from within conference and USC (FTGs).
To my detriment, I called for Sark to get COY after the USC win. -

I've selectively forgotten most of mine. I hated the Sark hire. Then UW came out and punched LSU in the mouth for part of a game and I flip flopped in a heartbeat. It took me a while, maybe until the second three game losing streak, to come to my senses.

There's a great collection of them herechuck said:I've selectively forgotten most of mine. I hated the Sark hire. Thanks for saying so, but for the record there's no need to point to examples.dnc said:

Edit...didn't notice that was a link. I dont remember if I even posted in that thread but now I'm going to check. May be a bad idea... -
This thread is pretty fun. It's so long now I can't remember if I already posted my confession. Here are a few things I haven't selectively forgotten:chuck said:

I stayed quiet but was cautiously optimistic about Gilby and Ty when first hired.
I kinda bought in to the Gilby undefeated hype stirred up by Samek.
I thought president Emmert was going to be good for the program.
I did speak up in defense of Ty in years 1-2 when his louder critics hammered on things that didn't seem justified. One example would be his shit canning Hemphill and Braunstein, both of whom sucked so I was right. Still doogish.
I thought UW might hire Herm Edwards.
I liked Locker and made excuses for him, same as I did for Stanback.
I got excited about what I saw in Sark's first game against LSU...classic moral victory.
I thought keeping Wilcox and the rest of the staff might be a good idea when Sark left.
I thought we might have a chance against Oregon EVERY year during the streak.
I'm sure there were plenty of others.

Ty had a well documented 6 game losing streak problem every year. You can look it upchuck said:I've selectively forgotten most of mine. I hated the Sark hire. Seems like Sark had one as well but not 6 games. Because he was better than Ty -

Quite honestly I think Sark brought a lot of passion back to Husky football. Really energized the fan base.
I'm proud to say I'm a massive fan of Sarks tenure at uw. -
