6 Tennessee OL have medically retired since last season. They’re a couple injuries away from an absolute dumpster fire of a season. Just saying -
Note that it's basically their third string. It's Tennessee, and their oversigning has been ridiculous. Last time I looked they had something like 25-30 more signees than UW since Pete arrived. And it's not like their shitty program has been pumping out the NFL early entries.NEsnake12 said:https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/cqy29p/6_tennessee_ol_have_medically_retired_since_last/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app

I saw a projected depth chart with true freshmen at both LT and RT. Seems like a problem.NoWarningJustDawg said:

Guys who left:
Tanner Antonutti: Freshman, 2018 signee. A little early to write him off?
Devante Brooks: Sophomore, Started final 4 games in 2017 as redshirt freshman. Missed 2018 to injury.
Chance Hall: Senior, was freshman All-SEC and All American in 2015 as starting RT. Started at RT again in 2016 when healthy. Missed 2017 with injury. Injured again 2018 but played as backup.
Eric Crosby: Soph, 4* 2017 signee. Never played.
Melvin McBride: Freshman, failed physical when he got on campus.
Nathan Niehaus: Junior, part-time starteer in 2018. Was working with the 2s in fall camp.
Wouldn't write them off as "basically third string." Seems like a lot of talent that played when healthy.
Also seems like a pattern of throwing guys in before they were physically ready and then having them wash out. Where have we seen that before? -
I don't think we disagree. One guy was certainly in their top 10 and perhaps more. Yeah some have contributed more than others but it seems likely not many were going to contribute this year. Some guys thrown in there too early and it shows. It is certainly reminiscent of a former coach with a USC mentality: "Just toss in a freshman and if he's not great try again. Development? What's that? Move 'em out, and make room for the 5-stars we just signed"FremontTroll said:

...You'll just have to forgive me doubting the veracity of many of their claims, knowing who we're dealing with and their history within and outside of the rules. -
